The Season of the Hunt

Following an influx of reports about attacks on the roads southeast of Dal'Thala's Pekeo District and reports of a magical beast encampment aptly named 'Monster's Peak', more patrols have been spotted in the area. One particularly hot day, in the summer of 2169 AC, a messenger from the Elzara's ranger unit was dispatched by Lady-Commander Amnestria Caewynn to deliver an announcement to Monster's Peak's "residents".

"It is within Nemea's sacred forests that beasts are allowed to roam, taking their place as a part of the natural cycle, each serving their special place within the ecosystem as was designed by Nemea. However, sometimes, beasts seek to become something more than what they are- organizing, going out of their way to hunt people instead of those who they were designed to prey upon.

It is when such attributes begin to form that those protections come to an end.

You have three options available to you: Either move your encampment out of our lands, cease your activities hunting our people and travelers on our roads, or be hunted yourselves.

Should even a single report about your group land on my desk come summer's end, I will ensure you truly understand what it means to be prey."

An announcement first relayed to the beasts of Monster's Peak, then to the members of the Elzara and Suladari. It seems that Delphina had finally grown tired of the presence of these beasts after several incidents.

Only time would tell if the sacred hunt would truly begin.

Within hours of the messenger's return, yet another report found its way onto the Lady-Commander's desk. Yet another report of a traveler being maimed by the same creatures as before. The message was received, and evidently ignored.

It didn't take longer than a week or two for rumors of a magical beast, Wattson, being slain near the forests surrounding Monster's Peak. A second message left behind by Delphinian forces in response to the beasts' actions.

"I see. So, mindless beasts will always be mindless in the end.

You have much to learn. And I, much to teach.

A lesson taught in blood, during a sacred hunt."
