In 1565, the geopolitical landscape Meranthe was an elaborate jigsaw of petty kingdoms and city-states in feud. Long-surviving territories of empires past amidst nascent and ultimately transient realms forgotten. The year marked the terminal point of collapse within one such state yet known to the common record: Lessenia, a kingdom dating back to the reign of the Aeschylus dynasty in the middle First Age, long in decline. From the wake of that ensuing chaos, the makings of the modern Faeborne identity converged and coalesced amidst an otherwise scattered populace within the tumultuous tides of dominance over the centuries.

From the shattered institutions of Lessenia rose a new crown and realm which would gradually ascend to prominence and tenacity amidst its more transient peers. A new crown and realm which, 600 years later, would become the longest-enduring of extant nations upon Meranthe. A busy day of ceremonies and celebration lie ahead, with the investiture of a new Duke of Nereides ensuing the disappearance of the Duchess Melionette Meandersong and following sexcentenary gala for the Realm of Delphina whole are proclaimed to occupy all of the same day within the capitol.
