There are some things the mortal mind is not meant to see.

 

Horrors lurking between the realms, things that warp the mind and body alike. It is a malignant force - one that does not comprehend the concepts of 'good or evil'. And yet, everything it touches becomes an antithesis to reality itself. It goes by one name, one known all across Eternia.

 

The void.

 

Occasionally, when a Riftmancer tears open a rift to a location, the rift does not properly close. It is through these small wounds in the lifestream that a window is formed - a window that allows the Void to peer in and exert its influence. And through that influence, reality around it begins to warp and change in ways nobody can predict. Wildlife becomes abhorrent monsters, buildings become fetid mockeries of what they once were. But despite this, the void is incredibly alluring - it promises power and more, if you serve it.

 

It's this window that Wisp seeks, but not to close it for some altruistic goal.

 

But for something much more nefarious.
