The Rootkeepers

The Rootkeepers are followers of Verdion, the father of lapine and first Rootkeeper of Eternia, alongside Alacritas, the Constant of Life. The Rootkeepers are courageous priests and tenders, delving into the undergrounds oft forgotten by humanity.

While the origins of the Rootkeeper were first held in Myllenoris, more recently has the religious belief been brought over to Meranthe and reimagined into a more modern frame. Not only do the Rootkeepers hold the underground close to mind, but also the fortitude of their own person, alongside the lapine people as a whole.

Our Mission:

The Rootkeepers of Meranthe’s focus is to protect the deep underground where nature is most vulnerable. Furthermore, to give home to lapines, and help unite the lapine people, regaining culture and a new purpose.

High Rootkeeper: 
Verdion’s blessed leader, bestowed with the task at guiding and uniting Lapine, or other interested parties, in his continued missions to protect the lands of Eternia’s Realms. The Rootkeeper is gifted the knowledge on healing nature, cleansing rites, and other pursuits under Verdion’s mission from Alacritas when it comes to Life and the Lifestream. The primary mission is to ensure that the underground locations of Eternia are nurtured, healthy, and protected to ensure the survival of vegetation in the system that is inspected.

Overseer: 
The second in command of the Rootkeepers. The Overseer is responsible for the teachings and understandings unto balance and harmony - learned traits from the Teraphim and Aschea. They are long-time allies from the ages of yore. An Overseer is typically responsible for guardianship of sacred groves and natural spaces, ensuring they are protected from the evils of the lands whose magics may affect the rootstock of a plant’s growth cycle. Their mission is to be a sentry to these locations for the Lapine and Verdion’s followers.

Imprinter: 
An Imprinter’s role is designed to help cultivate new life in a foreign location. This pertains to imprinting new roots from plants, generic seeds, or other unique and beneficial nature-life forces to help the location thrive in grander ways. These gifts are oft considered as bringing goodness.

Whisperer: 
Well-wishers. Gentle word speakers that bestow their loving energy unto a seedling or sapling as it takes root. It is said that a Whisperer is eventually capable of speaking wishes well enough that a plant’s response could garner swifter growth, providing faster sustenance as a form of positive response and happiness.

Nurturer: 
Nurturers are considered natural-born leaders above Sowers and Cultivators. These are who assist Cultivators and Sowers in looking after the lands that are sown of seeds, cultivated in cycles, and raised from the beginning of their life. They are who may consult with a Whisperer to provide positive reinforcement if a nature’s child may be struggling to spring up and mature.

Cultivators: 
Knowledged in the stages of growth cycles, Cultivators are those that take more careful attendance to the biorhythm of roots and how their maturation affects a plant above ground. Problematic complexities of a plant typically can be found below lands, should something be amiss above.

Sowers: 
Planters of fresh seeds from a harvest. Sowers are the novice-like children below Verdion’s graces that are at the early stages of their knowledge in his realm to care for plant-life, especially in the understanding of how a root grows, is maintained, and stays happy and healthy.
