The Debut: Zenith & Nadir.
#1
[Image: znndir.png]

In the aftermath of the baptism of an aspiring priest of the four and the disruption caused during an event at The Caethir, figures- both familiar and unknown- have emerged, causing their own brand of mischief across the lands of Meranthe. Bearing similar symbols and speaking in theatrical tongues, they claim the resurgence of a once-renowned group, Grand Guignol.  Under the guidance of The Lady Wraith, Ustrea, the troupe begins to reclaim their place upon the grand stage.

Amongst their ranks is one well-known to many, causing his own acts of madness- Morrigan Shadecrest. Yet, alongside Morrigan, a new ensemble of performers steps forward- ready to tell their stories, budding flowers ready to make their full emergence, ready to bloom.

And now, the moment has come

The stage is set for Grand Guignol to make their official debut. What better way to announce themselves than through a play? Directed by one of those very flowers, Tragedy, the debut will begin with a tale as old as time, where heroes and villains clash in a dance of light and shadow. A story of two who were once friends until their paths began to contrast. one who treads the path of darkness, and another who rises to oppose them, guided by their blinding conviction.

The Nadir.

The one who dwells in the depths, shrouded in darkness. The villain. The antagonist. A figure who defies righteousness in pursuit of their own goals.
In this tale, the role of The Nadir belongs to Grand Guignol's rising star, Pneuma.
A rabbit tired of dealing with an unending cycle, seeking immortality through their own means.
Every tale needs its Nadir
.
But a story of opposition requires balance. It requires its other half.

The Zenith.

The one who ascends to the heights, embodying light that banishes the shadows. The hero.
The one who wishes to save any and all that they could.
With every Nadir spreading their darkness, there is The Zenith to spread their light.

Quote:
"From all I’ve witnessed, of all the performances etched into my memory.
I believe you are the one most ideal to take up the mantle of the Zenith.
The force of light capable of extinguishing our darkness.
You, White Wolf of Arcadia, Severin, and your desire to save Pneuma from herself.
I extend to you an invitation. A chance to save the one you called a friend. A chance to become the hero of this tale."

"Will you accept?"

Citizens traveling in and out of the known kingdoms, all bearing red eyes with a black, rippling pattern similar to that of Tragedy, signaling them being under his control while they roam mindlessly, each carrying a paper with a single directive given to them by the one in control- spread posters with the invitation for all to witness written on its pages.

The acceptance had already been delivered in person, but after the events around Arcadian farmlands the one referred to as the 'White Wolf of Arcadia', Severin seems to finally offer a more formal reply through various channels of contact.

Quote:If you want me as this… 'Zenith,' I'll give ya exactly that. I’ll face your so called darkness even if it means savin' Pneuma from a fate she chose for 'erself. Don’t think I’m doin’ this for your sick drama. I’m doin' it 'cause someone's gotta try. Call me hero iff'n ya want; I won’t stand by while someone I care about sinks any deeper into that pit o' vipers! I’ll be there. And I promise ya this—no matter how ugly this 'show' of yours gets, I'm not leavin' without Numa in one piece.

From the Sandy Dunes of Serenity, the Sarim of the Wisdom of the Sisters observes something particularly interesting. Her immediate reaction?
Quote:
"Oh so he's moving up in 'life'? I can't have that."
Now, for her own aims and ambitions, she dispatches missives through the usage of non-magi couriers, publicly spreading the word of what she knows of the Grand Guigol. It would appear, she was intentionally trying to dissuade members of the public from attending this event. An act of sabotage, to hit Morrigan where it hurts most. In his audience.
Quote:
"This is the problem with humanity."
"Look, I don't know who needs to hear this, but my parents raised me with like, common sense right?"
"The Grand Guigol are actors, playwrights. They manipulate, and play things up for show."
"Morrigan himself would tell you anything you would like to know, if it meant it'd make him more famous and get him a bigger audience."
(Somebody call Nix)

"Now think for a second, if the coven of actors invites you to a theatre to get your freak on."
"To watch their stupid ass theatre. Don't you think, that may benefit their patron?"
"Because it does. That's how the Grand Guigol works. If any, and I mean any reasonable citizen is in attendence of this event."

"If I catch you, I might just beat the shit out of you. Because you are very clearly allowing yourself to be part of a witch oriented ritual."
"You know, like festivals and shit when you have the incense? This that, but witch based."
"And before I get any rumors and accusations about being a hater, I AM A HATER!"
A very emotionally charged response, perhaps the emotions between the Sarim, and this particular witch ran very deep?
