The Azure Order

The azure order is the evolution of Caethir’s Garrison. The Enforcers of the Royal family’s will and the protectors of the Princedome’s Domains. Their duties are as vast and diverse as the people who don its cloaks. From protecting the royal family to enforcing the law. From fighting for the name of their prince to attending to the princedom’s strategic needs.

Joining the Order

In order to join the order, one must be a citizen of the princedom and be in good standing with the royal family and the princedom’s laws. An applicant must also be at least 16 years of age at bare minimum with no exceptions. If one meets these criterias, they must seek out a Sergeant or above in order to begin the process.

Structure

The order is divided into One main corp, and two auxiliary corps. Along with those three, there is a fourth specialized corp. Each corp may add a prefix to a soldier’s rank, distinguishing their extra duties when such is necessary.

Officer Ranks

Knight-Commander
The Knight Commander is the only rank in the entire order who sits at the royal court as one of its members. They are in charge with any military matters when it comes to the princedom’s offensive and defensive capabilities. They are beholden to only the prince.

Knight-Captain

There are three Knight Captains, and they are tasked with formulating strategies and handling the inner workings of each of the order’s Corps. Each captain is specialized with a certain skill in mind, and they are beholden to the knight commander and the prince.

Non-Officer Ranks

Knight-Sergeant

The field knights who distinguish themselves as capable leaders and effective fighters, are more often than not promoted to the position of Knight-Sergeant. Their duties mainly surround the execution of the captain’s plans by passing them down to the Field knights and ensuring they are properly executed.

Field Knight

A garrison’s soldier who has proven himself as a valorous and skilled combatant, may be anointed as a knight. When they are, they are given the right to bare the suffix of Ser or Dame. A Field knight often finds himself at the forefront of a battlefield, leading vanguards and assaults upon enemy positions. No cowards ever reach this rank.

Garrison Soldier

Citizens with aspirations of the militant variety and with a desire to prove themselves to the crown, may join the order in an attempt for such. Once they join, they are assigned as Garrison soldiers and are made to handle the defense of the capital and its roads. Often they will patrol with a knight leading them, or will tend to duties of the backline, away from too much heat. It is only by proving themselves as valorous and courageous, that a Soldier may hope to be annointed a knight.

Special Ranks

Royal Knight

A royal knight is a knight who has proven themselves to be excellent combatants but also incredibly loyal to the royal family. They are elites and will often be seen accompanying members of the royal family when they depart for diplomatic visits or when going to a public event.

Champion

The Champion is a knight who has proven themselves to be the strongest amidst their peers. They will often be selected out of combatants who have fought and succeeded in countless perilous encounters. From blood sport events, to actual battles. The champion is the one that the prince sends when a demand for a duel is asked. They are as such, treated with great reverence even amidst the court.

The Corps of the Order

The Vanguard Corp

This corp is comprised of Field knights and above. They are always the ones sent ahead of everyone else. If there is trouble, then a member of the Vanguard is always there ahead of any other soldiers. To be in the vanguard, is to know full well the risks that come with it.. To be willing to climb the siege ladders first and to always push forward.

The Bulwark Corp

The Bulwark is comprised mostly of Garrison Soldiers along with some Field Knights. It is often seen as much less risky corp as their duties revolve almost entirely around some kind of guard duty. Either to man the gates or to guard the princedom’s caravans. Some have even taken to call it a punishment promotion.

The Logistics Corp

The men and women of the Logistics corp handle the azure order’s supplies needs. From organizing delvings into dens and dungeons, to ensuring each soldier’s equipment is properly upkept to the best it can be. They are the ones soldiers and knights will speak to when they have any kind of supply need. They are also the ones who help plan the defensive structures and the acquisition of the resources needed for their constructions.

The Radiant Corp

Those of the Radiant corp are often regarded with a certain level of reverence and fear. Their numbers are comprised entirely of Royal knights who have proven to have nothing but complete loyalty to the princedom. Their duties revolve entirely around the protection of the prince himself and stamping out dissident forces from within the princedom. They hold the prefix of inquisitors as they will often interrogate people and seek out those who threaten the peace of the princedom. Be they rebels, witches or necromancers. It is said that their web of informants is quite vast, and that information provided is rewarded handsomely.
