T'was but the night before Krausmas, when all through the day,
There was joy, jolly, games, music, fun and play!
Gifts were given beneath the chandelier with kindest care,
In hopes togetherness during winter would be there!
But rumours would have it not all would be as it should seem,
There was a man who didn't like giving, so on his taking hand would lean!
Gifts were taken beneath the sky with cruellest crudest disregard,
In despairing fire, ash and smouldering smoke, a farm charred!
.. and so would a furred fish be barbequed,
On the kindest, brightest night,
So she ran away to hide,
Shunting the light!
