Somewhere around Xuefeng, a little girl was mourning her mother.

After she found out about her mother's death and where her ashes were put to rest, she felt as if she needed to do something of her own.

So, after taking a long, deserved nap, she makes her way towards the icy waters.








A special candle that was made with her own tiny hands was held carefully so the fire wouldn't dim away and then laid upon a little boat crafted from wood, so she could send it off upon the water.
As it began to float, her face was rushed by tears once more, watching it sail away towards the never-ending seas.

'Mom, mom, mmmom...I promise I will stay strong, and will make you proud...

I promise to take care of mom and brother...

And to never lose my hope.

I love you, mommy...

And when I look up at the stars, I will think of you.

I hope you're okay...wherever you may be...

I will carry this lantern everywhere with me, 

So that I may always have you here with me."

A small lantern was always held by her side, ever since she learned of her mother's death, perhaps her own way of trying to cope with the tragedy.

And for now, she sat there and watched.
