What is a researcher if they do not make new discoveries?

Most of my life I've been dedicated to archival work, putting to paper with pen what already exists within the realm of our knowing, but hasn't been dismantled, looked at beneath a lens. Once upon a time, that was well and fine. But! I have finally found something worth striving for, however! It's larger than life and more beautiful than you could imagine, it has soft doe eyes but wears black wool beneath a wolves' hide!

It is a misunderstood thing, but that is okay!

Misunderstanding and lack thereof has always been my field of expertise! So, my lovely Sylvester, I am going to leave you here forever, but don't worry! I've left you some pocket money! There's some brand new boots beneath the couch. I know it was your birthday, but it won't wait! I need to save it and undo the shackles around it's hooves. Hang on tight, won't you?
