For He Shall Not Be Mocked
#11

In the final hours before the finale, the villain dispatches a missive in light of recent circumstances. It is publicly available for others to observe if they desire, as it was circulated through underhanded means. The Hime cannot afford to send anyone any letters at present, so she pulls some strings with some old affiliates she had when she was a part of the Republic, and gets this message out.

Quote:
"Before we take this step, before actions are deemed irredeemable, before I progress worse into the dregs of villainy, or I ultimately perish at the hands of those who I oppose,
I must make a few things clear.

1, Those of Terminus, I do not claim you. I do not know what you intend to do, but I refuse to bare responsibility. I'm not really even sure who, or what you are.

2, To Tanya Equisol of Gloomlight, I express my sincerest gravitude for your tact in delivering the news by letter.

3, Dear Midas Shigenobu, I have received your letter. The passing of your mother pains me greatly, I recall when she moved from Xuefeng into Fortune, she was so .. innocent then. Steadily, and gradually I trained her along with Akaza and Tenchi, and we grew, we were a happy family for a good while, training, learning, but I was always too busy for them with my other responsibilities. She met a boy named Toki, who eventually became a member of our clan, and she had also met your other mother, Chouko.

She was rather loved by everyone, many had crushes or deep adoration for her, to the point where I would have to reject them for her at the expense of my own reputation, people came to believe I had been denying those because they weren't of enough status, they were wrong. Shirin only ever had her eyes on one person in my perspective. Your mother was a real terror when she wanted to be, but I loved her with my everything, though. I wished I was better able to communicate how I felt, but there's nothing to be gained by rumination. In the end, we achieved everything we strived for and it destroyed us. I destroyed her as much as she destroyed me.

I can only afford to have you meet me where I have stated, on the West of Gloomlight. I apologize we could not have met in better circumstances, but as it is done, it is paid.

I did what I have, and I only have myself to blame.

And if I do not get to speak to you, I want you to know that I love you as well, although I have never met you. Do well to carry on her legacy, and do even better to pursue your vision of this world, and ambitions.

Remember, we, the Shigenobu are proud people. Every action you take has the potential to drive many to action.

Be wise. Be patient. Be understanding, and above all? Love those around you before it is too late.

Now in conclusion, my Nephew. I must prepare for the finale. I hope to see you there, might you learn what it means to stand on your beliefs without a care for the consequences. A coward dies a thousand deaths, but the brave live forever in our hearts, no matter how vile, or righteous.

Ki ga sora ni'nara, little one. (I bid you my heart)

Storm clouds gathered over Gloomlight's Western Entrance where the villiainous Shigenobu threatened to torch buildings and trees and wildlife.
And yet what greeted them was an entire army worth, all in support of either Gloomlight, the Oracle, Athelios or all three.
For those who supported one or the other, it was a tossup. Furthermore was the toss up on who truly supported Thomas Equisol in those proceedings.

But eye witnesses state lightning itself was called down that day, as the Giant that the Equisol had become was forced to combat against the Shigenobu Hime herself, only to end up with her being captured. Most believed her death was imminent. A brave soul attempted to save her life, Rexix, and for his crime he was banished from Gloomlight for good.

And yet, those same eyewitnesses claim the Oracle carried the Shigenobu into Gloomlight, and beyond that they're not sure what to make of her fate.
