"I tried..."

Coming from the once Commander of Aegis Cleald is a statement, given to those that cared to listen.

"I tried to fan the embers that were thrown my way by those before me."

"But, it's time I let those embers die. From this day on, the military of the once-standing Tens' Citadel, Aegis, is being disbanded and integrated into Gakaiyo. Once a titan of Meranthe, there is now only myself... A remnant of a remnant, looking on at the what is now just ash."

Once the words of the Nephilim of Ualdir was given, the last few remnants of Aegis soldiers were found to be putting up their cloaks and armour. Instead, they were wearing the Sheng attire of Xuefeng.

With the fall of Tens' Citadel and the last few trained Magi of Aegis dispersing, the military force has been fully disbanded.

The words of the commander of Aegis won't fall on deaf ears, of course there is people who cared to listen.

"Chin up, you gave everythign you got. When the Exarch and Chancellor were missing, the one who stood there for us, for the soldiers of Aegis was YOU."

"You took a responsability that wasn't yours to carry and did anyways, as someone with blood in their veins and a passionate heart must do, if someone is suitable to carry the flames of Ualdir that's you, Commander. Eshir, Asashi, Ulvar, Hektor and myself will remember that, hope we can chat one of these days, will write you."

The giant still wearing the cape of Aegis spoke true to the man who had to defend Ten's Citadel in the darkest hour. Even if Aegis is dispersed, those trained under the military excellence of the northen city will carry the military tradition, wherever they go.

"Thank you for so much, I will always refer to you as Commander." -Invictus Tenebris

Word has reached The Lawn, nestled in the Central Farmlands just north of Gloomlight.

With some Aegis soldiers having retired to a quiet life of farming, the news finds its way to both the proprietor and the Chronicler, who now resides there.

The Chronicler, upon hearing, recalls the steadfast watch of Yugram's Vigil.

The commander's presence and unwavering stance left a lasting impression, along with the small but meaningful acts of kindness-especially the memory of him generously sharing stir-fries, and allowing such pilgrims to pass through the bridge.

Such moments are not forgotten.

Word spread that the Chronicler extended a welcome and invitation, passed quietly from soldier to soldier until it finally reached the Commander’s hands in the form of a proper words to be heard.

Quote:

"Lord Commander,
Your role as the Bulwark against terror has rightfully earned you your title.
You have provided invaluable service to Meranthe, especially to the common folk and lesser magi.

In light of this, I extend a humble invitation to our Lawn for tea and pastries.
Should you choose to visit, it will be on the house.
It is the least we can offer in gratitude for all you've done."

Of such, many people around have heard of the embrace offered to Meranthe's beloved Commander.
