In the year 2038 AC, the previously uninhabited isles just off the shore of Dal'Thala were struck with the first stones of a temple to Sirenian faith by one High Priestess of Yama, Maliyah. The community of the ocean's kindred intermingled with mainland demographics which would come to form around that temple dubbed as Nereides. Initially an administrative district of the city just nearly over the horizon still - albeit with much autonomy left to the local populace, all the time and investment of nearly a century since has seen the isles raise into a more developed, distinguished territory. A history as one of Delphina's younger dominions nevertheless long enough to span and exceed the rise and fall of more short-lived polities across Meranthe, with the Sirenia cementing themselves as a modest demographic within the kingdom. Over these generations Nereides has grown in its populace and infrastructure, so as well grown more elegantly integrated into the wider society of Delphina; most recently, to most peculiar extent.

By a shift in the earth so swift yet delicate for its tremendous scale as to imply a touch of the divine, a stretch of barrier isles and shallow banks lush with growth and shimmering in the daylight with prismatic crystal formations have emerged to extend the islands of Nereides into a more direct connection and path to the mainland. In a higher vindication of gradually developed syncretism, the well-renowned Leucothean priestess Melionette Meandersong, has been noted to bear the wings of Nemea's blessing whilst otherwise retaining those of the First Siren. As is the way of Delphina inscrutability, the implications of impending developments have been left to gradually spread well before coming to head in an express proclamation.

Yet perhaps the day for such proclamations soon comes, as the following goes announced: At the host of the Lumin King himself, a rite of investiture in which Melionette Meandersong would be honored as the first to wear the title of Duchess of Nereides, and by extension Nereides itself formally elevated in status as a vassal of the Delphinan crown to Duchy. All the pomp and circumstance of the regional nobility is to be expected, and for all that has preceded it there may very well be more than an earthly significance alone to extoll by it. News to be broken, as to just how Nereides would not only be a home within Meranthe for the Sirenia under the charge and protection of the Faeborne - but the realm of the Selkie as bestowed by Nemea and granted the blessing of Leucothea's own mandate. How it is there may be a bridge through the stars much as there is plainly drawn one between land and sea, by which Sirenian faith might find a path into communion with the Pantheon of Mankind - or at least, one elusive pillar of it between all strife and schism. Curiously inscrutable, as Her people themselves oft be.
