A dozen different maps are assembled over a humble wooden desk. The room is barely lit by the dawning sun which peeks through window and onto the desk below. Each map illustrates a country, most divided up by kingdoms but some without. The center one reads: 'Valmasia'.
Attached to these maps are several notes, sprawled in elegant calligraphy. They mention names of knights, unforgotten, some forgotten and then tidbits of history, accomplishments, deeds, battles. Most of all, depictions of their swords. Sitting at this desk is a boy, just beginning adolescence, with colored, shoulder-length hair and the attire of a squire. Like some type of scholar, he wields pencil against new parchment. The rest of his room is mundane, a small bed within the corner, barrels and boxes filled with his belongings. What stands out are a weapon, armor, a violin, and an assortment of varied books fixed in bookshelf. A living quarters only recently acquired.
As morning comes and the god rays out in full catch the teenager's face, his eyebrows furrow to secure his sight. A furred feline leaps up from where they slept on the bed, making their way onto the desk. They nudge the boy's shoulder with their head. "Couldn't sleep," he mutters. Another nudge.
It's that time again. Physical subjects by the men-at-arms. He sighs. The one time he might be late and it's not from oversleeping.
The feline departs for the door. "I'll be there—one sec," he voices to himself, rushed. He performs a last few maddened swipes of his writing utensil, then drops it down with a clatter and leaves. It rolls off the desk, not to be found for another few days but the paper remains.
The boy retrieves his trusty steel blade, tucks his chainmail underneath his arm and runs off after the black cat. Wooden door to his apartment swung open, then left ajar... until it creaks and eventually shuts from coastal breeze.

Upon parchment and what had kept him up at night is a series of vibrantly drawn swords sticking out of the ground. An amendment is written next to it 'Dreamed about it again'.
