Aegis Checkpoint

Rumors spread out by traveling merchants alongside their guards, of the Aegis Checkpoint becoming stricter by the day since the Pantheons conflict within the tower. Where there was once only a sign against Fel and Demons , a new sign had been planted as a quick addendum for recent conflicts.

When questioned about why the sign was put up by the Sentinel all were answered with, "I do not want to spread the blood of those I know, to harm their faithful as it distracts from the demon threat. But? I am a loyal warrior underneath my general, his order was given and it will be followed through to the end."

A recent situation comes to light, as the Checkpoint undergoes its first clash between faiths. As many see it in passing, the Voice of Athelios was witnessed following their gods decree, even while injured they fought the Sentinel, sent retreating out of the Checkpoint.

Left echoing within the checkpoint in the aftermath, was a message of the Voices righteous wrath and determination.

Found bloodied, semi-drowned, and at the lowest point in their life, the Sentinel of Aegis was seen bobbing within the body of water alongside the bridge they were duty-sworn to protect. Witnesses report a Monster had stormed the Checkpoint, breaking through the impenetrable shield of Cleald, rendering him near death.

Another report states that around where he was found is a multitude of freshly boiled alive fish and crab.

Located within the Checkpoint are three new guards, temporary in make just like the sign that now adorns the path that protects the Eastern lands.

After a singular statement is given to a passing merchant and Cleald enters the watchtower, it's said that the same merchant could hear the noise of water droplets dripping and sizzling alongside muted sobbing. Going by the sounds heard, they say there is a chance the tower is haunted by a lingering spirit.

In the middle of the night a Certain Angel and undead make their way to the checkpoint some rumors say. Its said they stayed there for a bit. The Angel looking over the place pacing it. The undead seeming to walk around even laying inside the tent that was left there. Some words could be made out from a distance.

"The hospitality here sucks, Not a single glass of milk. I give this tent a ZERO out of FIVE, I couldn't get a wink of sleep... Wait I don't need sleep."

It also seems some of the signs were destroyed and a new one was placed down instead.

Alongside the tide of changes throughout Meranthe, comes changes even further up north. With the finishing of the vigil towards Yugrams heroic death, the Checkpoint undertakes a period of refurbishment. Something meant to not let down the new name shown by the freshly planted sign,



"I know I can't and won't live up to the new name given to the Checkpoint, but that does not mean I won't try... But before I am Yugrams disciple, I am a disciple of Ualdir. Let it be known with the recent erasure of Enarr from Gloomlight, I will no longer be acting in good faith to the enemies of my general. Many have been allowed to walk through with a first warning or turn back, for I was not certain of their faith."

Rumours are spread with the nephilims statement, that now all of Gloomlight are barred. While those of Prospera are being side-eyed while more information comes to light from the situation.

A strange jester was spotted walking around the Aegis Checkpoint, It was unclear what they were doing there or what goal they had in mind when walking into the checkpoint. It was also sighted the jester made a sign stating something on it and what was even more strange about it was that the sign was made of bones crudely put together. As the jester was there reports of a rattling laugh was noted as someone was close enough to hear the rambling of the lone jester.

It seems that they didn't improve thing around here the last visit of mine. Still no milk and the tent is even worst like how does that happen. Still a zero out of ten review on this checkpoint.

The reports say that the jester left shortly after this comment. Report also say that they may be back again to review such a checkpoint in the near future but who knows if that is true.

Spotted at Yugram's Vigil was a group of three undead, harassing the checkpoint like hooligans. With words about 'Milk' and 'Reviews' being tossed out left and right, as the defenders rose from their posts. Soon a fight broke out between the flames of Ten's Citadel (and Roland), leading to wide destruction all throughout the checkpoint.

"If having Milk is what it takes to lure you to the Flames of Ualdir, then we will keep the Vigil stocked, as to allow you to rest." - Cleald




After a powerful clash between the two sides, it is known that the Undead were sent reeling back to where they had come from. Each one left injured, while the Aegis members (and Roland) began working on bringing life back to the torched field.

Loud crashes sound out around the Checkpoint as Tens' Citadel is engulfed in a mushroom cloud. Shockwaves explode against the tower, shattering its windows and causing the masonry to crack as large chunks of debris crash against it and shatter the ground around it. 

As the dust settles, there is nobody left, the meager soldiers left behind to guard it during the Atrellya Invasion fleeing to find their way to Xuefeng. Within the coming weeks, there seem to be no movement in the area, no Aegis guards, no watchmen, the fire being left unlit.

Rumour has it that still there is brief movement within the tower, the ghost of a beastkin watchman unable to pass on.

Ikonocles stands at the site of the cleansing, in the ruins that he failed to protect so many years ago.

The site where his will was destroyed by the imperfect Hak'Tor.

His words are soon spread by the many terrified workers that were hounded from their projects upon his arrival.

"A new checkpoint has arisen, and I am its guardian. This is where the eternal rivals and comrades, Ualdir and Enarr, shall be revered evermore. For the honor of those who cleansed this place, and the honor of those who died in its defense against the demon hordes, I now take my vigil."

Efforts to impede the construction of the temple would be met with fire and fury.
