The End of an Antithesis

[ Ambience ]

Lost thoughts of an ancient entity. Which now lies beyond the planes of existence, only to ponder its eternity, after one last feat has been achieved.

One last act of change.
Perhaps.

Quote:
"Demons. Such simple-minded creatures. Ones that follow a pattern, for.. We consume. We grow. We evolve. We change. And with us, the world as well becomes different. It has to, to become similar, to combat us before their inevitable end.

They must evolve, just as we do.

That is certainly the definition of change. And to represent this term in its entirety is to be ready to not only change the self, but also to force the world around to change. To be the driving force of fate.

To weave the future."

Distant.

More and more distant.

Almost fading.

Quote:
"You, for a time, understood this. You represented this change and achieved what was expected of our people. And more. For this. You were chosen for greatness.

To surpass me, similar to how I surpassed my progenitor.
To be the next step in the evolution.."

Although. Something happened. Something changed.

Quote:
"However, you changed. Not for the better, not in the direction of perfection, but rather.. In the direction of humanity. Of these creatures, so fragile, so.. Mundane.

And in that you failed, you threw away everything you achieved and what you could have been, everything you represented. For fragments of something that would never be.

Human.

And this led to a terrible end. Where now what remains is nothing. When it could be so much more. When it could have been, the true change of our race.

At least, this is now over.
And from it, something more shall come.
Maybe."

However, nothing of this mattered. The life of one of these beings continued. This would remain in the past, given the many decades that should follow. As a fleeting memory, something in the back of something's mind, something timeless. Yet, it might always return to the mind, to once more ponder, to once more remember.
