A fire roars in the hearth, the logs spitting and occasionally sending out sparks with a noise like a firecracker. To you, the ancient groans of the manor are a comforting feeling that brings you the clear sense of nostalgia. After all, you spent a lot of your time as a youth roaming the vastness of this seemingly depth-less manor.

The wind moans in the chimney, and somewhere in the depths of the manor a door bangs ceaselessly to and fro. This is Stagwoods Manor, the country-house home of your rich and famous grandfather, famous for the creation of the communication device well known as the ‘transceiver’, he has made billions of coins off of selling the blueprint for his creation.

Tonight is his eightieth birthday celebration, and an annual gathering where all of his grandchildren arrive to visit him on his special day. You, who are gathered here in the vaulted great hall of Stagwoods Manor, represent the best, brightest and most illustrious of bloodline. You have each been well cared for throughout your years by your predecessor, but there are so many of you…..And grandfather is getting old and sickly with each passing year that goes by.
