To most in Meranthe? Something archaic. A long-forgotten monster whose hands never truly touched Meranthine soil. A historical figure of precious little importance. To some, though-- those who follow the word of the Prophet, who hear the call of Morningstar and the promise of a better world, one without pain where all may live unto fulfillment and where none may decide when life ends but themself...

He is the embodiment of all they hope to achieve.

You are one of these aspirants. Someone inducted unto the cult that is Morningstar, granted a weapon to serve Him with and a chance to study the Art, or as much of it as your current tutor has gleaned in her time studying. You will learn to wield it yourself, the techniques of binding souls, the means by which you might bring about paradise. You understand very well that sin is only a sin if you fail to make the world better with it. A distinctly utilitarian approach-- that all the suffering you might inflict shall be made null by the advent of utopia. That the ends, here, justify the means by which it is done.
