In Memory of A Wilted Carnation
#1

Quote:
"A wilted carnation, once vibrant and full of life, carries the fleeting, inevitable part of life. Yet, even in its faded stature, it remains apart of a great man's  legacy."

"His death left a void within our mom, and for me, it sparked a deep curiosity.
What was he truly like? I heard about him from our mother, but hearing from others can never match experiencing it firsthand.

Who knows, that's a question I may never have an answer to.

But from what I've heard, he was a kind soul, and I can see why mom is the way she is.
Selfless and accepting, he opened the gates of redemption to those who sought it.
That very kindness passed down to our mother, and she used it to nurture us and love us as much as she could.
I know I cannot fill the void his death left within her, but I would like to make her proud, at the very least.
I want to show that her efforts in raising us have not gone to waste.
I know I cannot be him, but I can try.
I can try to follow his example and do what's right, just as he did when he roamed these lands.
Things now may not be the same as they were then, but I promise you this:
I will protect everything that his daughter loves.
I will spread hope to those who may find themselves in a state of despair.

I will become the shield that keeps anything that may be considered a threat away.

I will spread love to those who deserve it, to the people who lack it, and to those who understand the value of life."
