Is Kraus dead?
Only in the ways that matter to most. What we all have to deal with is the banal, vapid, and empty existence left for us. Some would attribute this meaningless chore to be the work of Kraus, since he 'died' to make it. Others would call all of it 'Kraus', and as such 'he lives through us' and other sentimental trite.
I look at the 'is'. Universal truths can not be trusted, when the universe has an agenda.
If Kraus 'meant' for the world to be like this, question his meaning. An insidious observation of our actions as we're forced to play roles few of us are actually happy with. As we're forced to contend with threat after threat, making the non-magi and the non-confrontational essentially worthless observers... how much of this was Kraus' intent?
Where does magic power coalesce? In the wise, or the foolish and zealous? Do the strong overcome through determination- or those that look the other way when they pass each other by? Strength itself is a delusion, and the fools that cling to thrones and power claim it to come from their own merit, when it is thanks to strength that they never have to build any.

The Delusion of Strength
The strong do not exist. I've defeated them, time and time again- despite weakness. How? Strength kills the mind, and I kill it more. The strong hate it when you know them for what they are, typically the ego of being granted everything on a silver platter can not handle one that acknowledges that fact. Challenge them, they band together- they will claim no loss at all in collective delusion against your metaphysical assault.
However? A true mental strike, one that causes them to see just how obvious their worthlessness is to an outside observer that has no need to fear them? No matter the result, a blow to their ego is more than enough to kill them... slowly. They will die, when they've outlived their usefulness- when they've aged beyond abuse, they die. You simply make it happen faster.
Though it is by Kraus' design that the pox of delusion is reproduces as the vermin do. Defeat the strong, more come in their place- equally sorry as the last. Killing them means nothing, but hurting their pride lasts an eternity.
The Solution?
So what is a Metaphysicist to do? When the world operates on false strength, when those that think themselves worth something are all simply prisoners in a system in which they're all equally afraid of one another, when they're nothing but slaves that hold their own chains in a circle- terrified of stepping out of line lest the rest yank theirs as opposed to seeking freedom together...
When delusion rules over rationality, when the fragility of strength is proven time and time again- only for the strong to suck their thumbs together to deny your existence, to label you crazy for realizing the truths beyond universal truths...
When you know how to beat them. When they walk on eggshells near you out of fear, knowing full well they plot against you- and that the only reason they haven't done anything about you in self-righteous fury is that deep within their heart they know you can beat them. The thought terrifies them.
What do you do?
You leave. From the perspective of an outside observer, their game has been nothing but pathetic. It is only within their delusions that they have power over you. It is by design that we exist in these fanciful delusions of theirs, and so you reject that design and impose your own. This is the conclusion I've come to.
Existence has no meaning. We have not only failed to reject the null hypothesis- we impose it ourselves by taking part in the charade. If meaning is to exist, it is to be created- if such a thing is possible.
Far away from the delusions of the strong, in a place they hold no power. Far away from Kraus' design, where you're simply entertainment. Far away from it all, in your own Neverwhere.
And when you've proven you're above it all? When the strong merely gawk and play pretend, when you no longer have need of Kraus nor his creation? Kraus will take his own life once more, he will truly die- and this time? There will be none to pretend they venerate it.
Has always been right, is always right, and will continue to always be right.
