The Grand Record
-I ask neither tithe nor tribute, neither loyalty to me nor loyalty to gold, but that of a greater favor beyond all others. Rarer than the richest jewels, as abundant as the soil beneath your feet: That world you alone know and none other.-

"To learn of the past. To record the present. To witness the future. To take the world within my eyes. This is the ambition I set for myself and hold in highest regard." - 2075AC
"But I have grown old; limited in sight, in touch, in hearing, in self. I alone am not enough for the world is too big for me alone-" - 2112 AC

PATRON: Memoria
.
.
Description:
Despite Memoria as its patron, it is not a requirement to join for it is not just a religion but the collective desire to gather and collect knowledge from all facets of the world. Knowledge is the uniting factor, its members sworn ensure the continuation of existing knowledge, uncovering lost knowledge, and the expansion to new heights. While there is no singular area of congregation, members are beholden to themselves to continuously seek out towards this grand goal, collecting books, tomes, and relics whenever possible; often possessing their own sizeable library.

Quote:"The lie remembered is more reliable than the truth forgotten."
Collection is far from the only goal. As much as possible, members should seek to expand knowledge wherever they see fit. Copies of books and tomes obtained, no matter what they may be, are ever desired to be shared amongst members and spread throughout the world. It matters not whether these records seem to be false or not, though reasons for believing either ought to be recorded as well. Once lost, the fact of the past will be nothing more than theories and conjectures, and lies ever more easily changing history. This is for the security of an unchanging past against those that would seek to change it.
Oneiros
Quote:"What? Did the book jump out and hit you? I'll hit you with the d*mn book myself!"
Knowledge are seen as innocent, for it is the hands of those with it that decide to do good or evil. No knowledge is ever shunned from collection, nor knowledge held back from those that seek them out. However, in these dreary times, the latter stance may waver depending on the situation. From Artificery and Alchemy to Spiritmancy and Necromancy, no bias is held when it comes to securing knowledge. For those who think otherwise, is it not best to learn weaknesses directly from the source?

Quote:"A world of dew; And within every dewdrop - A world of struggle"
Each and every existence are beholden to their unique understanding of knowledge. Even if two people read the same book, it is not guaranteed that they'll understand the same thing. Within each sentient being, there is a world, a universe, with which none other than that being itself knows. No magic of two people, no matter how identical, follows the same system in its entirety. Each death and demise is a universe of knowledge gone forever, the essences lost or erased. Preserve life, no matter what and no matter who.

Quote:"To be witnessed is the proof of existence; The Record is the receipt of eternity."
If anything, there is only one rule: set out and record the world. Each and everything one should care to put upon a pen should be, from once-a-lifetime events to a mere butterfly floating past, all things deserve remembrance. Significance is not found in that which is recorded but the act of recording, for you are not recording others but recording yourself, your proof of existence stamped in history.

(OOC: Flyers could sometimes be seen flying high above the sky, to land only upon those fated or curious enough to pluck them from the heavens. Even still, the page is obscured by runemancy and illusions, using aspects of Holy, Occult, and Neutral inscriptions. These are simple enough that any level of mage may eventually pick through them, should they not be too biased in the magics used, but only those with enough will-to-know, free time on their hands, or simply enjoy a long and drawn out puzzle will bother to open.
To those that bother, a name and title is additionaly shown: Regalus, Librarian of Nightview.

The Past Is Made Whole Once More

Briefly stripped of its head scholar, Regalus,
The Grand Record and its scholars are made whole once again as a new Librarian steps forward,
taking their former master's place.

Dunsman S. Viridi
Owner of Londo's Library

This change is but a temporary one until Regalus returns...
Until then, may
The Grand Record enjoy the guidance of a Memoria Priest once more.

For the time being... any inquires, donations or recruitments into the order shall be handled by Dunsman directly.

"May your deeds never be forgotten"
