Origins.
"By order of Queen Irene II. The relatives and any descendants henceforth of the deceased be made into Nobility, in the form of a House, so that the piety and zeal displayed may continue on for generations to come."
Established in the year 2049, for the Exemplary Service of a Priest, and Naval Officer.
A man who burned brightly.
A man who burned brightly.
Before becoming Nobility, the Keene family were a cherished line of bakers from the town of Acha, a little border town long held as a valued asset against the old war with Barsburg.
Now, though - instead of the fires of the bread oven, the flame of faith motivates and guides the family.
The Core Tenets.
Faith is your guide, as it was to the founders.
Tell no lies, otherwise do not speak.
Avoid needless death, including your own.
Live with Honor. Act with Honor.
It’s Purpose.
"The lands of Meranthe hold untouched value, and unfathomable danger."
House Keene is a relatively new arrival to the lands of Meranthe, though it’s progenitor is not, having arrived - and died long ago in the old colony.
Currently, as it stands it is not a large house, nor the first from Aen to snake it’s way to Meranthe, and it’s current true head still resides in the homeland. His Son, however… has decided to extend the reach of the house, by becoming the de facto head in Meranthe. Perhaps to prove to his obstinate father back home he is more than just words.
House Keene in Meranthe has aligned itself with a group that follows the constant Pylae.
As they are the closest to the values of the House in the lands, and have welcomed the young Scion when he arrived.
Those Of The House.
"Each has their role, so shall it be."
The Lord/Lady.
They who are the head of the house, holder of the manor and one to whom all are held to account.
Consort.
The other half of the Lord, or Lady of the house. They hold a title equal to the head - but are deferential to the head of house.
In the event of the death of the Lord, or Lady of the house they could become Lord/Lady Regent, in the case of the Heir not being prepared to take upon the mantle.

Heir.
The next in line, the inheritor of the house. The one to which many eyes will lay upon, and expectations will be pressed.
High Retainer/Officer.
This is a multitude of roles, not merely a single title with a single purpose.
Within it, are the following subsets, in no particular ranking order:
Castellan: Charged with the overall protection of the members of the House, one who holds security at the forefront of their duties.
Master-At-Arms: Charged with the protection of the Lord, his Consort and Heir, as well as the protection of any squires and their training should they lack a knight.
Seneschal: Charged with the administration of Retainers, organization of meetings and contacts that may require the attention of the Lord.
Knight/Armsman.
Two roles in one.
Knight: One prepared to handle a squire, and granted the full rights to do so. Experienced and well reasoned.
Armsman: A newly raised Squire, not yet of the experience or recognition to train their own squire, but held in regard as a notable fighter regardless.
Squires.
Retainers who wish to fight in the name of the House, loyal retainers, or the descendants of a Knight or High Retainer of the House. They are in training.
Retainers.
A variety of roles, examples being delivering messages, cooks and farmers, smiths and armorers - to just providing whatever skills they possess wherever they can.
This is generally the entry level of the House, but are afforded its protection and expected to uphold its values nonetheless.
