Years had transpired since the Blacklight Ritual that unfolded in Martyr's Vigil. What many mistook to be Magical Beasts of the Pavonian strain were nothing of the sort at all. These bestial sophonts that roamed the streets of Gloomlight and beyond the wintry fallows of Xuefeng, skulking in unassuming corners and the forgone shadows of tucked away alleys, were nothing like the violent brethren for which they were confused.

These gremlins were, indeed, demons.

Possessed of their cunning, their wit, and their potential for sophistication. Bereft of the ravenous proclivities and necessitations that made them a scourge as much to other races as to themselves. Reconfigured in such a way as to be worthy in the eyes of Athelios. These pods of singularly cooperative demons spread far and wide, mingling among their more feral Pavonian counterparts, or whatever civilizations were disposed to forbearing their presence and rekindling that lost spark they now embodied.

Now matured to a discrete level, it was their time to shine. For better or worse.

What are you?

You are a demon of the Agarthan Variety, a formerly extinct category of Magical Beast.

Mechanically, you are a Magical Beast, reshaped from the template of Archon Na'ria and the divine spark of their spire shard, with a distinct advantage: at RPL 220+, you have the potential to reach Archon status. A humanoid form akin to Imperfection--sans the natural Kaorblade.

You can attune to the Occult, but is it is not required. Moreover, you can do so and grow from it without the need to consume kin.

(The IC consequences of the Occult still apply, and will naturally make you more competitive and dominating as a result.)

You are morally flexible like your Magical Beast cousins, possess a higher base intelligence, and an affinity for Civilization like your distant Agarthan precursors at the cost of a slightly weaker constitution.

(Primal Descent is replaced with Cursed Heritage, earning you 7x less exp from Dangers in exchange for being able to gain in settlements. Your stats will be Elemental Demon-tier upon evolution.)

You are among the thousands of demons transformed during the Blacklight ritual and will spawn in Gloomlight/Aphros, where you were carefully protected and monitored during your early stages of development--mostly by Na'ria and her progeny, but also Lady Equisol. You could have also been one of the many that scattered shortly after the ritual. Where the story leads from there is up to you.
