Peace Upon Xuefeng

A blessing comes this way for the Xuefeng.

From the mainland, at the recommendation of the current Emperor, a shaman has traveled to Meranthe.
The goal is simple; to bless the grounds of the Xuefeng with the intention of keeping it safe from impure spirits.
By doing so, this generation and the next will be blessed with good fortune, and warded from evil spirits.

Mikoto Shinjitsu will be presiding over the ceremony, and all of the Xuefeng are encouraged to attend.

It went wrong.


It all went so, so wrong.

The events of the Spirit Cleansing Ceremony were, instead, a recreation of the malicious Spirit Calling traditions, where-in spirits were made aggression by the chime of an enhanced bell, and then captured for use in rituals, forging miracles, and powering generators of time's past.

A dark blotch on the history of Sheng's underworld that had been removed from the historical records with the intention of ensuring that none could ever anger the spirits again. And, yet, the ritual was recreated on an insane scale- large enough to anger every single spirit that resided on the mountain.

The shaman called to 'bless' Xuefeng was, instead, a malicious agent of the underworld, placing pressure upon the residents in an attempt to strong-arm control over yet another Sheng-affiliated outpost.

Xuefeng has not been blessed, but instead, cursed. The only thing that residents can do now is try and appease the spirits of the mountain, in the hopes of avoiding the complete destruction of their settlement!

It's do-or-die!

OBJECTIVE: CALM THE SPIRITS

** ECs will be spawning throughout the week.
Each will present unique challenges for any within the city's bounds.
An announcement will be made before the appearance of each spirit.

Peace returns once more to Xuefeng.

As the final spirit is felled, and the malice within the bell dissipates, the Spirit Calling Bell finds itself robbed of power, and shatters...

Though the bell may have been destroyed, and it may never be recovered...
Though many were injured, and Xuefeng's structural integrity wanes...
