Summary/Outline of the Event:
Starting as a standard dungeon crawl of sorts,
Working into a classical fantasy crypt which to much of the party, appears nondescript and to be of some strange fascination to Etrigan.

Initial encounters including a riddle giving old man, and a skeletal warlord who while seemingly of generic fantastical genre- will begin to seed the hints of the dungeon’s true nature.

Working deeper the nature of the vaults and crypts will become more surreal, sort of reminisce of the first harry potter movie’s finale sequence beneath Hogwarts. The challenges the party face growing more bizarre and less in line with their experiences above.

Here there will be an encounter with a talking serpent, who maneuvers by means of a thousand human arms, like a reptilian centipede. It will not be initially hostile, but should Etrigan make reference to his intentions below (being related to the dead god he is seeking), it will attack them.

There, we’ll see that this isn’t just a tomb- it is a prison.

Crafted by ancient, alien races to ensure the spasming tumor of the dead god’s remnant physical existence is kept contained. Lest his pox-riddled, and ghastly corpse spew plague and ruin on the world of Eternia.

So unwittingly, the party will begin to unlock the dead god’s bindings. Not free him per se, but the shackles which has kept its existence a mystery, will begin to be undone…

As they travel between rifts in the timestream and worldscape, discovering this dungeon is far from what it seems. Culminating in an encounter with an ancient statue, revealed to be the mummified corpse of a high priest who was enshrined/imprisoned with her former master.

More lore and plotpoints revealed here, culminating in the cruel necessity of destroying the statuesque figure (triggering a bossfight), to reveal the final tablet which will guide Etrigan to more knowledge regarding his apocalyptic master.

Rewards:

Quote:Tome of Alakazar (Dev Item)
The mad archmage’s tome of prehistory- scrawled in a mad script which can no longer be seemingly translated by any known contemporary scholar. Rather, this text communicates its impossible prose through the psychic presence laced into its pages. Perhaps the remnant soul of the insidious wizard himself… now trapped in the tome’s velum for all time. Studies into this seemingly innocuous ancient grimoire could yield any manner of results. Perhaps the very mana and influence the tome’s owner possesses, might differ in the font of knowledge found within.

Quote:Uakar’s Undying Anadem
A crown of thorny iron which coils and curls like the undulating figure of a snake, in digs into the scalp of any wearer with cruel indifference. The writ of history has left Uakar far behind in the bloody antiquity of his legacy. Though the Anadem remains…

Wrought of a mysterious steel-like substance of tarnished silver, it inflicts upon the owner a crippling malaise. The undying passions of Uakar have embellished his former headgear with all the vile proclivities he possessed in life. Leaving whoever is so unfortunate to don the crown, with a sickly pit in their stomach, and a lust for debauchery and violence.
Head gear: -4vit, +10crit, +1bloodpow

Quote:The Slab
An apparently simple and unmarked slab of old, lichen-covered stone.

It stands at a meter high, and a third of a meter across, with spare chips and cracks indicating its age along the edge and corners. Though not particularly fascinating in an outward fashion, there’s a certain weight and gravity to the slab which belies its unchiseled exterior. Perhaps? A cruel mockery of the great tablets which have outlined the mysteries of the great Primordial aspects of Aemir.

A blank slate, still unwritten… waiting for some acolyte of the cycle to sheer the strands of fate. Ruinous end, the idea is not, the word is not, there are no more. We went into the mist some time ago, we dare not tell of what we saw. We can not tell you of the lurking archaiforms. High gospel doused, doused, doused, doused. The deluge. The--

Did you hear that?

The slab, it speaks.

For those who don’t receive a unique item, I will be offering a shard of arcanium, as I don’t want to bloat the rewards with fluff I don’t consider necessary to the story.
