Backstory
Quote:Djanemba was born in the earth, embraced by nature and embodying its darker aspects.

There was nothing left behind from Djenmba other than other spawnling siblings and an overwhelming, inherited, demonic power of its predecessor.

There was no consciousness, no hopes and dreams, and no desires other than the desire to consume and to evolve.

And so it would.

  • Djanemba ventured beyond the safety of Skarnfel, compelled by a newfound feeling: curiosity, and a feeling it knew too well: hunger. Lesser demons and Flaplings lay beyond the walls, and Djanemba began to fight for the first time in its life, utilizing its amorphous, acidic, body to its advantage to overpower these creatures. The strongest was a demon that had ascended beyond Lesser, Djanemba's current stage, and Djanemba overpowered it, thus proving that it was a cut above the rest. Of all Lesser demons, Djanemba had made its claim in this forest as the strongest. Yet even that wasn't enough to help the blob ascend... All of that occult energy it had absorbed wasn't enough to kickstart the process. It needed something more.
  • Djanemba and its sibling, Djabuu, ventured further beyond Skarnfel's walls together and into the wilderness of Meranthe where mortals roamed. Two such mortals were found, each of them taking a pick and Djanemba choosing the strongest: Shevaun. Their strength invited challenge, and Djanemba sought to utilize their strength to evolve further by consuming them. The battle did not go in Djanemba's favor, however, crystalline magics overwhelming the lesser and forcing it into a corner. However, that was exactly what it needed to grow. Its occultic energies grew wild, chaotic powers exploding within-- That day changed Djanemba's life forever, prompting the creature to ascend into a Mega Demon. Witnessing its ascension, Shevaun fled despite being the victor of their bout.(Danger - Loss)
  • A small girl named Rin Ishiko wandered over to Skarnfel, and unfortunately Djanemba was out hunting. The creature, seeing this small mortal, immediately bit her leg and intended to drag her into Skarnfel's walls for consumption. However, the kitsune managed to pry herself from the demon's maw and get away, never to return to Skarnfel's walls again.
  • Lasirius, a prince of the Crimson Keep, took Djanemba out for a hunt, the word 'prey' now learned by the demon as food. Their first victim got away, however the second? A Mortyl zealot by the name of Caligo Thymai. Their bout was intense, however Djanemba's ascension to a Mega Demon came with benefits: the most prominent being the newfound strength that set the demon above mere magi. The battle was won and Djanemba got a taste of the life essence of mortals, growing closer and closer to even more heights of power and realizing that it could potentially hunt alone now that it was stronger. (Danger - Win)
  • Videlvi is caught by Lora'ene, Ybiet, and Djanemba. Djanemba is prepared to consume it, however Lora'ene teaches Djanemba the value of mortals' potential. They can be useful for more than just food. Videlvi was a crafter and learning to become an incredible one, at that. They'd prove useful in the long run. Videlvi's life was spared, and the concept of mercy was learned by the demon.
  • A dragon named Igor recognized Djanemba as one of Djenmba's spawn, immediately empowering it with a powerful concoction that boosted its natural abilities further. These were poured into the blob's body until all were absorbed and Djanemba reached yet another level of strength before evolution. For the first time, Djanemba spoke its name, matching the language of the mortals in order to communicate with its kin. Day by day, Djanemba was gaining sentience.
  • Djanemba and Djabuu sat in the wilderness, and their prey came right to them. In disbelief, the two siblings looked at one another, then began their onslaught, both demons splitting off to do their own series of bouts. Beisalor and Donk were powerless in the face of Djanemba's all consuming power, and with Donk's bountiful reserves of energy consumed by the Mega, Djanemba was forced into a sudden evolution, far more violent than the last. Djanemba had become a Giga Demon. (Two Dangers - Both Wins)
  • Envy consumed Djabuu, prompting a battle of siblings between Djabuu and Djanemba. Newfound emotions surged within the two, envy and pride consuming Djabuu and confusion and a desire to dominate and control consuming Djanemba. A clash to prove who was the strongest ensued, and the winner would consume the loser. That's how the law was in nature, after all. However, even after winning, Lora'ene's lessons of mercy and usefulness flashed through Djanemba's mind. Djabuu was spared, and Djanemba began to speak like the mortals in Djabuu's mind, attempting to reason with them in order to continue hunting together. Djabuu bit Djanemba, running off into the forest to grow on their own. Djanemba was left stunned and confused. Lora'ene's lessons didn't work. Silently, the newly awakened Giga returned to Skarnfel. (Danger - Win, Brother - Lost to his own Mind)
  • Djanemba pondered Djabuu's betrayal, swearing to do everything in its power to bring Djabuu back to the side of reason in order to grow together and share the status of the strongest.
  • Djanemba had to hunt on its own now after Djabuu left. A holy warrior named Zentas stood in Djanemba's path. A new emotion boiled up within the blob's core: hatred. Holy magic was the opposite of occult magic, and for a being made of occult? It was like watching its worst enemy walk away freely after a crime. Zentas simply couldn't be permitted to exist any longer, and Djanemba did everything in its power to cause as much harm to the powerful swordsman as possible. Djanemba was victorious, barely, and got away from the holy warrior as quickly as possible. Their resilience let them survive the encounter, and the next time Djanemba saw a holy user? It'd be far too soon. (Aggressive - Win)
  • Aza, a Kaor Demon, decided to begin a hunt. Djanemba, of course, joined. Two goblins accompanied them, Videlvi and Berserk. Aza spoke of the Godless, new beings that descended from the Tower and onto Meranthe with a mission unknown. It was time for the demons to give them a violent awakening. One godless, a younger one, was on his way home and saw Aza, Djanemba, and co standing outside of the tower. Mercy was what Lora'ene taught, and it would prove beneficial. The RISE boy was going to be their messenger. They left him unharmed, demanding he go into the tower and call for backup, and so he did. Thus began the assault on RISE tower. RISE emerged in full force, two leaders and many soldiers filling the area to destroy those who came to harm their people. Zerek was Djanemba's first fight, the warrior assaulting the demon immediately as ordered. Their battle was grand, but the Giga demon emerged victorious, consuming part of his life force and spitting him back out to nurse his wounds as Djanemba prepared to fight more. It was like a buffet for the demon, but his happy mood faded the moment the others lost. Aza was defeated. Berserk was defeated. Videlvi was defeated. The last line of defense was Djanemba... And he won. Scion joined the bout after Zerek, however they were defeated in the demon's rampage, forcing the spirit wards to stand back and make way for a true Descendant: Spectre. The swordsman was powerful, boasting great strength and demanding Djanemba pray to the gods, despite them not helping him. Little did he know, Djanemba had no faith in the divine. All he knew was hunger and the need to grow. A leader of RISE was defeated, and the warriors were forced back into their tower by the Giga demon who returned to Skarnfel safely, victorious, and with all of his allies alive. (Battle of Skarnfel - Won | 3 Dangers - Won)
  • News traveled quickly. Those present in Skarnfel's square had heard of Djanemba's victory, congratulating him on the success. Ustrea herself rifted into Skarnfel to meet Djanemba, stating how proud she was of the demon before disappearing once more. [Image: image.png?ex=655f2481&is=654caf81&hm=37c...cf1d19a5e&]
  • Djanemba's hunts had been very successful after his accomplishment at RISE tower, however there were still some bases that needed to be covered in order to reach his new goal: defeating the one who killed Djenmba: Costas. A fortune teller with the tarot card Death named Naomie faced Djanemba in an encounter and defeated him. Djanemba realized that he'd have to adapt to powerful wide-ranged attacks if he ever wished to gain victory over all opposition in the future. This would have to be tested further. (Danger - Loss)
  • Another user of Fortuna crossed paths with Djanemba, La'kesh, who boasted the tarot card of Death along with extreme pyromancy worthy of dragons. Djanemba was bested once more by the power of Fortuna, fate guiding both of these beings towards victory. Djanemba was close towards a breakthrough, one that would help him ascend and defy fate itself. Soon, fate would bend towards Djanemba. (Danger - Loss)
  • A girl named Akemi Miya stood before Djanemba, one who utilized machinery to keep up with magi. She was defeated promptly, however there was potential within her. Djanemba would have to find her once more sometime soon... She would make for a worthy wielder of the fel magic Occult. (Danger - Win)
  • A Drakanite named Palisade stood before Djanemba above Aphros, taking him on and losing. (Danger - Win) More life energy was acquired for Djanemba's ascension, but nearby was a magi who wielded cosmic magic and stood to protect the others. Lyra wielded the power of the stars, and something within Djanemba's cells stirred and burned with hatred. This magic was what destroyed his father, and he couldn't afford not to face this woman. They battled, clashing to the fullest of their abilities, but the beastkin's prayers to the stars grew to be too much for Djanemba to handle. But it was exactly what he needed. Feeling the burning cosmic rays and experiencing what Djenmba experienced in his final moments forced the Giga demon to evolve, chaotic energies destroying the forest around them as he ascended into an Elemental.(Danger - Loss) Through trial and error, Djanemba had reached the level of his father. And now that he'd adapted to cosmic magic?
Djanemba had become "the strongest" in his eyes. He was now the Lord of Corruption, as his father was the Lord of Filth.
Plans
  • Evolve: Reach the level of Elemental like his father Djenmba. Accomplished
  • Consume: Drain the life of mortals and utilize their life energy for his own evolution. Accomplished
  • Destroy: Inflict as much damage on the mortal world as possible. Accomplished
  • Reach consciousness and awaken, becoming sentient. Accomplished
  • Bring Djabuu back to the Fel alliance, so that they may continue battling together as brothers. Failure due to Djabuu's death.
  • Become a "Lord" like his father.
  • Avenge Djenmba by destroying Costas
  • Corrupt Meranthe with occultic acid replacing water supplies.(I ultimately wanna do what Dumuzid did in E1, and give the entire game a -10 vit curse unless they're on my side. That was a really cool arc that led to his defeat in a crazy final battle.)
  • Poison the oceans to ruin ship travel, trade, and keep people stuck on Meranthe.
  • Become The Strongest.(Reach Kaor)
  • Create a realm of his own where he can create more spawnlings to descend upon Meranthe and cause mass chaos, spreading corruption everywhere. This would be his world and hold his throne.
  • Master Life and Death (Necromancy)
  • Gain the ability to traverse realms and go where he pleases.(Riftmancy)

Quote:One crucial part of Djanemba's master plan of spreading corruption and influence is mastering death itself, and corrupting even that into his own image.

Necromancy will enable Djanemba to reach into the lifestream and tear away souls to do his bidding and to empower both him and them. The more he has, the larger his legion will become, and the closer he'll be towards creating his realm of corruption.

  • Throughout Djanemba's youth, he has been absorbing life energy in order to improve himself, a starting point in absorbing and containing necromantic mana.
  • Djanemba sought a more practical lesson in Necromancy, seeking out Skarnfel's Necromancer Evelyn Nightshade in order to gain all of the knowledge possible in as little time he could. Evelyn explained everything to him, and every single step was committed to memory. Now, the demon just had to put it to practical use and master the art on his own through working with the corpses beneath the ground.
