He spends more time working on his kingdom's affairs and projects than caring for a bunch of brats. Leaving such tasks to his servants. It gets to the point that there are rarely any interactions at all and the ones that happen, are extremely cold and focused on just making sure they grow appropriately.. Following the path of the dragons, but mostly.
