Tristan Llwon
#1
Name: Tristan Llwon

Date of Birth: 2049
Roleplay Level: 204
Allegiances: Humanity
Magic: Blood, Energy

Backstory:
A foreigner from the Fens of Annwyn, Tristan left his home to find and face new challenges and grow in strength. After challenging, and being defeated by, Na'ria, Tristan began to question the harsh ways of his homeland, even more so after the battle of the tower, where Lyseroth fell before the united coalition of Meranthe. Undertaking training as a holy mage and pondering on the nature of protection, the foreign born mage began to understand that there could be a middle ground between the harsh isolation of his own people and the corrupted civilizations of the wider world he so despises. That he could be part of the people, and already was whether he liked it or not, and that simply rejecting society did nothing, he resolved to uplift the broken people of Meranthe.

Milestones: (WIP Will probably add logs at a later date.)

1.) Fight with Na'Ria over the goblin village of Faoivein.

His fight with Na'Ria was the first time, he spoke at length with anyone about his beliefs. He fought while espousing the supremacy of mankind, only to be defeated near effortlessly. Planting a lasting crack in his beliefs.

2.) Discussing Philosophy with Ventirion.

While in New Dexia, attempting to learn Holy Magic from Taglia Djulkorren, he sat down for a long conversation with Ventirion. Once again stating that mankind had nothing to fear, as reincarnation is inevitable. Ventirion turned Tristan's logic back on him, asking why he did not simply choose death and face Lyseroth alone. Leaving Tristan without proper counter argument. By all rights Ventirion was right. He should do just that. Instead, he waited and marched with the rest of Meranthe, proving Ventirion's point.

3.) The Battle at the Tower. Lyseroth's Sealing.

During the battle, which Tristan hardly contributed to despite risking his own life in the process, He was just one amongst the numberless horde of Meranthe's magi. Facing down Lyseroth and the coven of Misfortune who fought on alone. According to his ideals growing up, Lyseroth was the epitome of everything a magi should be. His only sin in Tristan's eyes the nature of his birth. As Lyseroth was sealed, where there should have been the taste of victory, Tristan only saw loss. The loss of an enemy champion, who mankind would never be able to defeat properly. A chance for growth stolen from the people of the world.

4.) The Struggle to be Holy.

With his childhood ideals in tatters, Tristan attempted to understand the mentality of a Holy mage. To comprehend what it meant to protect. To Heal. His upbringing was one of self-centered focus on the pursuit of power above all else. So if he stood in protection of another, he was robbing them of the chance to meet the challenge and grow. If he let them take the blow, they might die. The contradictory nature of defense rending him unable to move forwards as he tried to understand what it meant to protect.

5.) Servius and Ynni's revelations.

In his search to learn Holy Magic, Tristan consulted with many. However it was an argument with a woman named Ynni in the marketplace of Aphros which led to his first breakthrough in understanding. "Do you have anyone it would destroy you to lose?" The concept was an alien one to Tristan's worldview. Such an attachment would be a weakness. A means of attack outside of ones control. And yet, connections to others appeared to be the key. To view mankind as an extension of ones self. To view an attack on another as an attack on yourself. Facing a crisis of philosophy, he turned to Servius, knowing the Dorians for a harsh people. And from there came the final revelation. "I will lift them up." was Servius's proclamation about his people. He would lift them up, and help them to be better than they are. To pave the way for a brighter future.

Tristan did not need to serve as a literal shield. A slave to prevent the people from being harmed. He could serve as a light, to guide them to a better way. To guard the worthy from an unworthy death. Or goad the unworthy into action and worth. To prevent Meranthe from taking the easy way out again and help raise up worthy foes for mankind to fight against and grow alongside.
