Initially within Embers Pass (formerly known as New Dexia), Phoebe had a sudden realization of her purpose in life. To help guide the spirits that are tormented and stuck upon the physical plane to the stars themselves to help herald their rebirth. This is what she performed within the deserts of the Silent Expanse, with only a single onlooker to witness such a spectacle. Wisps and Spirits of all kinds were able to be seen within those few moments as they ascended to the stars under Gala's watchful gaze.

Now, Phoebe intends to repeat this act, only on a much bigger population - and one that is much older.

While there are declarations and plans made to reclaim Vdalion from the scourge of Demonkind, the now formal Spiritmancer only has a single target in mind:
To usher those of Vdalion who had lost their lives tragically upon the Volcano erupting towards the stars. The issue is given just how long the Giants have settled the mountain, there may be a strange occurrence or two that happens.

But surely that's just a rumor - right?

"The fun shouldn't start without me, Phoebe."

An abomination of burnt flesh and slash marks made his way towards the mountain, with his purpose evidently known. These tormented Spirits of Vdalion shall be His, and only His. To him? They were only mere slaves, forced to serve a 'purpose', whatever 'purpose' it may be, it didn't seem like it was all too important to the Spirit Abusing Mage, Xerneas, who wants to forcibly use their powers to strengthen his own.

No thanks to Reeds, he can somewhat visualize the spirits. Intrigued by this, he wanted not just to see them. But to capture his first Spirit who dared itself to show up on top of the Mountain. 

To Foil the Ritual, and Disturb the harmony of the Spirit World..Or to commit more Spirit Abuse.

The ritual is a success.
But not perfectly, either.

Initially, as Phoebe encourages those present to offer their thoughts, prayers and manas to the invisible spirits of the lingering Giants, they seem to accidentally rouse a lava elemental that had found home upon the Volcano. There it threatened to spur them into a fight, and to unleash untold devastation upon the group and the Volcano anew. Thankfully, she tells the others to appease it. Mortal goods do no good, as Raithe had discovered, with magma melting his eternite he offers. Caterina offers a piece of her own flaming soul, and with that accomplished she finds herself attuned that much closer to the fire spirits which dwelled upon the Volcano. Loki offers his own promise to always protect the land, and it's solidified in the form of a tattoo around his bicep. A constant reminder of his oath spoken on this day. Even Amier's Nephilim, Jokul, joins in to offer a silent prayer to his lost people. It is said a prophecy previously spoken by the Stargazer comes true when the Oracle shows herself in monochrome light.

But nothing is perfect.

Xerneas crashes the ritual in an attempt to steal away those spirits who have gathered to ascend to the stars. His brother, Rerzin soon joins him, and while the Lava Elemental disappears back into the molten magma, an all out brawl soon begins. Those who aim to kidnap and abuse the spirits against those who have learned to respect them.
Phoebe continues with the ritual mid-combat, and soon enough the ghastly apparitions of the Giants from the past arise to the stars in columns of light. It is rumored that the criminal Xerneas, who has declared himself an enemy of those who respect the spirits, was thrown off the mountain by the former Emperor himself.

Tonight, an assembled group of people helped to further Gala's plan for her veil. Tonight, they showed their respect for those who came before them.
Who knows what tomorrow will bring?
