Quote:“...One of the more grim traditions of sailors is the trial of Sainthood. During the summer months, massive typhoons form along Meranthe's coast. It's the belief of many sailors that the typhoons and storms accompanying them are tests sent by Enarr, as a trial to those who sail the seas.
Thus, a particularly tenacious captain and their crew may sail into these typhoons, desperately trying to keep themselves and their ship afloat – as an ultimate test of the skills and abilities that a sailor has accrued over their lifetime.
If they survive, they can consider themselves Sainted.
Not many return.”
As summer rolled in, the storms once again brew alongside the coast. Cyclones, typhoons – only moving across the waters, barely – if ever – making it to land. Though this year in particular... they were much more intense. In the Salt Serpent Tavern, one peg-legged individual joked about the Peace Barriers coming back. “Thought Yama and Inki were both dead.”
Glass of a fizzy, non-alcoholic beverage in her hand, Misperis lightly chuckled.

“Pff. It's only Inki that's dead. Yama's still kickin'. Least, that's what Taloros had to say about it, I believe...”
The peg-legged individual responded. “Y'know Sirenian shite, cap'n?”

“A bit, yeah... Heh-heh-heh.”
The moon shone particularly bright today, even through the clouds of the storm. It's always a nice sight to look at. It's always been captivating. And today, the fifteenth of Twe, was a supermoon too. At least – that's what the calculations in her tome would say. It's a shame for the storm, today would be a nice day to take the Chivalrous out for a voyage. The ultimate freedom – only limited by the whims of the wind. And even then, Meranthe's winds are often quite favourable for a sailor.
Ah... Fritz would have enjoyed that.
...A somber look suddenly overtook the captain's face.
Downing the last of her drink, she slams the glass back onto the counter, paying the usual as she does – four coppers and a silver – the latter as a tip for the bartender. “Lil' extra for you, Giovanni. Either way, that's all for me.”
Walking towards the door of the Tavern, another fellow speaks up. “You headin' home, missy?”
And as Misperis opened the door to the outside, she answered.

“Nope. I'm sainting the Chivalrous.”
There's a moment of silence – collective shock across the tavern as the words leave Misperis' mouth. Immediately, her crew hopped into action-
“No, no, you lot don't need to. I'm going on my own.”
Immediately, one spoke – a brown-haired lady, about half of Misperis' age.
“Captain, it's our duty to uphold you and the ship. We're coming with you.”
“Elijah, it's fine. I've weathered storms like these on a rowboat, I'll be fine.”
“But--”
“Elijah, it's an order. Stay here. Trust me, the Chivalrous will be safe and sound once the storm ends.”
...With a knowing swallow, Elijah sits back down. The door slams shut behind the captain.
Watching from one of the windows, the crew watches as Misperis unmoors the Chivalrous, and sets sail towards the horizon, straight towards the typhoon.

...
It was a rough couple of nights for the crew, the storm raging on almost endlessly for two days and two nights – as none of the crew could set sail towards the Sapphire Bay to deliver the news – lest they may get swept up in the typhoon themselves. But eventually, it calmed. Posthaste, one of the sloops set out towards the Sapphire Bay... to find the Chivalrous already docked. The deck is as wet as a fish, yet the ship remained in pristine condition – bar one thing.
The Felinae Captain, Misperis, is nowhere to be found.

Final Amber Count: 122
I hope you've enjoyed Misperis! She was probably the most fun I had on a character aside from Idola and Leiline/Shame back in E3. I'm sorry that it's so abrupt.
