With the recent defeat of the Shattered Few by the hands of the Grand Guignol one might assume that the will of those gathered would be broken --but to Vali Folhammar, that couldn't have been further from the truth.
He saw an opportunity.
The Emperor spoke out to any ears willing to listen, though, primarily to those of New Dexia:
"The assault on Grand Guignol was a failure. We lost, and our forces were repelled...but, I have to admit --I feel strangely re-invigorated! We lost, but we were oh-so-close to toppling their gates and storming their castle; one small push was all it would've taken.
Mine hammer struck at Lyseroth in the end, and beneath the stench of death that lingers around him...under those thick layers of aether...I could feel it bouncing back from the force of mine blow.
A man.
That is all he is. A simple...man. He may be able to heal himself but he too is capable of being overwhelmed should we be persistent enough; he is far from immortal. Hear me! Do not lose hope, do not think that this is the end. With that battle concluded...this is merely the beginning as the tides turn in our favor!
