Breaking of Chains [Salvation vs Deephold]
#1
[Image: moyejwG.jpg]

Over the course of several months, eminent Magi gathered, as well as personnel that the Vorraog considered worthy of accompanying him on another incursion on Deephold, wherein the forces of Hel were ever-present. All for an admirable goal: an effort intended to inspire hope throughout the continent with the liberation of Rebecca Woodes, a woman who retained many ties to the magi present in the rescue team dispatched and who had been imprisoned and monitored by the Imperfect for motives concealed from the public for a decade now.

In the midst of their valiant march, where paths thick with forest and vegetation remained bare for them to pass through freely and without any obstruction, their very presence inspired optimism, and the purpose they so brazenly asserted under the name of Salvation, lacking any banners, struck fear into the hearts of those foes who so naively lingered outside of Deephold's borders, urging them to bolt back home and prepare for the onslaught to follow. After months of silence from its leader and frequent bouts of absence, Myron finally returns, ready to address the enemy openly.

Quote:It's not 'love' that you feel, for you lack the capacity for such a pure emotion. No, you're nothing more than a crude, vindictive creature that feeds on tormenting the helpless. I recall how daring you had been back in Deephold when I was in the heart of that conference room, wounded and exhausted, flanked by your many comrades... You insulted me and made threats against my life, threats that I very much took offense to.

You covet the blood of a Nephilim, correct? Then I expect to meet you on the battlefield, Sak'noth, because I will deprive you of all that you cherish, just as you and your kind have done to us in the past.

OBJECTIVE: Rescue prisoner Rebecca Woodes.

(Battle Date: Wednesday, May 3rd, 6 PM EST)

"Again and again, and again.. And again.. How many times we will have to do this!?

How many times before this mortals succumb, forget.. Decide that nothing will change what is inevitable, what is set in stone - what was already changed by my hands.

Perhaps. A few more times must we crush them, until they finally realize."

As preparations were made for the decisive battle against the northern threat, the demonic horde also moved to the walls - some very recognizable figures being present among the fel creatures. These had rallied at the call of the Lord of Change, who would now more than surely seek to..

Repel those who marched towards his castle, to take what was his.. Perhaps, for the last time.

Quote:
"Come then, little mutt. We invite you all to join the legions of the undead, to feed the demonic hordes - after we crush your skulls, rip everything out of your existence.. Until what remains is a husk.

And then, we will send each one into oblivion, death will be the last thing your people will graced with for what you do. Death, would be merciful in comparison with what awaits those who march against me."

Word spreads amongst the gathered march as the procession stalls to a halt, just shy of bowshot range from the great walls of the Deep Hold. Jeering demons would, perhaps, boo with disappointment as the army packed their tents, before turning heel upon the fel darkness which they had come to challenge.

A change in information, or maybe a change of objective. No concrete reasoning given, only vague explanations relayed from one to the other. If one followed the trail of talk, they would finally come across a memo from an individual related to the organization of the raid, handed to a few just before she disappeared from the Shadowlands.

Quote:
"Effective immediately, our March of the Bannerless,

for the rescue of Rebecca Woodes, is halted.

The cost of life estimated, too great to justify the one liberated.

And the difficulty of such has been newly judged to transcend

mere force."

- Sabriel Equisol -

... so, certainly, you know who to blame.
(ACK, A CANCELLATION!?)
