Nyflheim: Lands of The Pack
#1
[Image: da_pack.png]
Figures had set out within the night to an island north of Dal'thala, intent on laying claim to it. A ritual takes place, seen only by five eyes - the induction of two, becoming fully fledged members. What had been bubbling within the surface, waiting to be made real was now beginning to set forth.
Quote:
Many dreams does one have when one sleeps. Many goals and desires, some which voiced, some which stay in silence.

Was ripped from home, twice over. Both times, awful.
And what happens when get to this land? Just see sheep. Many, many sheep.

So Idair think is time. To lay claim to one, small land - for now. For self, for pack, where pack grows. Bring old culture here, and foster new - and show world true ferocity of the ookami. Yes?
Words are uttered by a wolf familiar to many - and a question is then directed to those that are to be made fully fledged members. How they felt, and what their opinions were. One had a more lethargic approach, yet one that accepted this all the same. Another was more excited, energetic... Eager. They were opposites, showcasing different natures and different approaches - and yet somehow, they yearned for the future all the same.
Quote:
Whether it be here nor there, people will chase us, try to sever our heads from our bodies, etcetera. I found a home here and I'm still looking for something... But yes, you are right.
Sheep doesn't even begin. Sheep provide. Food for the land, clothes for the people. No, no. Leeches. Takers. Ugly little beasts that walk around, living lavishly with the only purpose to reproduce. Outlets of power who add nothing to these lands that could only benefit, if only they would lift a damned finger...

She speaks truth and only truth. She does not judge, but only looks for the greatest truths that belie.
She thinks that our future together will be bright. She will serve the pack, just as it- wolf brothers and sisters, pack friends, serve she. Having land to farm, a place to build her hovel, and people to look after and be looked after by, all fills she with good hopes.
It is afterwards that they follow the culture of their leader's homeland - to mark blood with blood, to write their destiny within their newly designated ritual tree.
New names are given, and runes assigned wisely so as to incorporate their natures more easily. And so were the words called out, heard by each guest present:
Quote:
Vi samles her under månens visjon for å gjøre krav på dette landet.

[We gather here under the moon's vision to stake claim upon this land.]

For lenge har verden stått stille, og for lenge har vår type blitt behandlet som bare kjæledyr i denne regionen og dens naboer.
[For too long has the world been stagnant, and for too long has our kind been treated as mere pets in this region and its neighbours.]

Under de våkne øynene til Asena og Saekanis, hør vår oppfordring og påstand:
[Under the watchful eyes of Asena and Saekanis, hear our call and claim:]

Dette ikke navngitte landet som skal lansere oss til den nye fremtiden skal få sitt nye navn.
[This unnamed land which shall launch us to the new future shall receive it's new name.]

Nyflheim.

Måtte de iskalde vindene hyle for alltid.
[May the icy winds howl forevermore.]

Those that live within Dal'thala would have noticed lightning enwrapped by tempests as it shot up towards the sky, the arcs forcefully being separated by the winds as they land harmlessly within the waters. It is unknown whether it could be taken as an omen of something worse or simply as a marker for the start of something more, something grander than what could be known at first glance.

Either way, those that have been left unfulfilled or with a festering desire for change have begun to make their move; and this call will carry forth, seeking those of similar hearts and minds.

The Pack has now been fully established. Those who are outcasts, lost, or simply seeking meaning or a place to truly belong are encouraged to seek out Idair, Kehellion or Mistral.
A few things to note is that those of Ookami heritage are more easily accepted than those who are not, and tests of loyalty before joining are a given.
Understand that upon seeking to join, you are going to be in a position where you are free to conflict with anyone. The only loyalty you are truly expected to have is to the group itself.
Functionally, the group can be considered mercenary.

The rules that one must follow are simply two:
1. The Pack comes above all else. Do not discard your brethren and sisters, for betrayal means death.
Do not intentionally do something that would specifically cause a problem for the pack, either.
2. Foster your own strength. Whilst the pack will assist those part of the family, you are expected to be able to hold your own.
Understand that the Matriarch, Idair, comes from a much different life. If it seems you need to be taught the law of the wild, you will be taught.

There is Norse Mythology tied to this, as well as the opportunity to delve into old ookami culture and that of Asena and Saekanis and help foster a new one.
It should be noted that this is not a Coven, but if you are a witch? There will be no care given, however you will be watched should it seem as if your loyalty does not lie with the pack itself.

If you cannot find either of the three listed, you can DM bluebird#0001 on discord for a scene.
Anything else is meant to be learned within the IC of the group - so have fun!

r folk er burte, ser ein best kvat dei dugde.
[In life you love me not, in death you bewail me.]
