Tranquil Storm

Fateful Aberrant

And with its passing, arcane chains bind to another. The thread of fate unravels with the slightest push, the mildest touch - And so, too, must the Silent Expanse fall to the dream of a sub-tropical, prairie paradise of the Meranthe of yesteryear. Random, solid Adamantite and Blue Mercury statuettes and miniature shrines to the ancient Divine Dragons that shaped the world, some of Kraus' more well-known Angels of ancient tales like Azrael and Loki, and lesser historical figures from across the continent of Aegis begin to dot the landscape between The Gutter, Final Frontier, and the few known foot travel paths through the edges of the Silent Expanse. Someone or something is clearly funding and enabling such with how little weathering is visible upon their visages and altars, doubly so to prevent simple thieves from taking the idols of semi-precious metals.

"Purpose and trust, even where they need not understand."
Small influxes of storms off the coast have contorted into being on a regular basis over the past year. Whether to terrorize sailors and merchants using the trade lanes to the northern lands, or to begin bringing the rains towards the accursed desert, whatever new presence (political, cultic, natural or otherwise) has quietly established itself in this region is willing and able to affect the immediate vicinity around it.

"It is not too late to live in a better world. You just have to be wiling to force it to exist in the first place."
"From the moment the world of Eternia brewed His first concoction, He has wanted little more than to enjoy the afternoon sun crisp and dusking on the horizon; To sip at the ambrosia of life's fruits in all their glory."
"There is no greater calling, than to use our free will to make a paradise free of burden and omnicidal failure."

These odd inscriptions, seemingly written by desperate upper-peasantry judging by their idyllic, somewhat populist contents, can be found on waystones and traveler's marking guides near such shrines. Regional reports point to something vaguely akin to a Dragon or wyvern or some other winged mutant aberration occasionally flying overhead...

Lost Priory

The footpaths around Final Frontier slowly began to depopulate after the convening of the newest, and arguably the last, Moot of the Empire of Meranthe in the modern age. Peasantry and mercantile classes alike become tight-lipped and tougher to bargain with, as the sightings of some of the more fantastical creatures from the coastal Gutter area dissipate. Divination and Spiritmancy in the Final Frontier seems a little tougher than it used to be, and the smaller shrines to the various Angels and Divine Dragons of old enter disrepair while some additional civil damages mount as some of the lesser peoples just don't want to visit the area anymore,
And the Tree of Hope, Solais itself at the center of Final Frontier's gardens, loses a portion of the soothing blue Cosmos and Faerie sparkles helping feed it along.
  "Peace and quiet at last."
Those once-welcomed miniaturized storm pressure systems that oft gave way unto naturally-forming new life over the northeastern portions of the Silent Expanse drifts away, and Fairies notably avoid The Gutter almost entirely now. More of the crumbling fortress once home to Razuka, petty criminals, and retiree Magi now lays magically damaged without something or other to help upkeep The Gutter under Lok's purview. The waters around the north of Meranthe appear suddenly unguarded and unpredictable, leading sailors not to use the Frozen North trade channel passages as much as they used to. The Kingdom of Fortune in the opposite sea itself appears to lose some of its other magical warding almost overnight, with more of the unbearable encroachment of Swuisarme and Lesser Demons now trying to dredge their way across the southern seas.
Crime rates in these affected areas went down a bit, but at what cost?
"Systems shutting down."
"Good night, Fist."
And the world is absent another one-of-a-kind-creature of some rapport or other once more.

Sole Reprise

Recent events surrounding an expedition to Mount Pavonis from the Final Frontier have brought a few interesting things in the region - Domestic, spiritual or otherwise.

Fantastical creatures occasionally emerge from the coastline once more, and those ruined shrines to Dragons & Angels alike began to re-emerge in their original splendor. It were as if some greater Time Mage or Earth Mage had practically undone the damage. Notably, two statues of solid Orichalcum and Blue Mercury - Gold and silver trims, respectively - Crop up near the Final Frontier's Carnation District. Fairies, too, are oft seen either under the golden canopy of Solais' protective branches, or meandering the remains of Dawnstone's Faerie Gyre.

Whatever remained of the Horde had retreated further into the desert canyons once more, warded off by golemic constructs & phantasmal faerie-fire that flickered in and out of reality one second or the other. The weather systems across the northwestern coast returned to a predictable pattern, as if they were under the spell of a wielder of the Divine Storm once more - albeit, the storms are calmer, and slower than they were just a few generations ago. The lowlier artisans and standard fare began to return to the northwestern Meranthian peninsula with some tentativeness,

Asking. Wanting.

The world speaks,

And something heavenly or otherworldly provided.

Over in the Sainted Church, the occasional funeral arrangement of white lilies & lavender flowers can be seen floating by from the distant coastal breeze.
Our flowers.
All those grandiose memories,
A greater chapter in the Silent Expanse's lives brought to a close.
