[The Black Knight]

The Countryside has always been a vulnerable place. The Order of the First Light's presence within Osrona is concentrated in its walls. The City Watch, a guardsman organization is concentrated throughout Osrona, inside the walls and just outside, but what of those who live and work beyond the bridge to the imperial city? Too many lives are considered superfluous and unnecessary, weighing less than those within the city's hallowed arms. Too many are considered unwanted or dangerous. These people outside the walls are at the most risk, and while some can find solace and protection within Moonfall's borders, in a time of war, it only makes those still caught between even less safe. The Black Order

Known Ranks

Mercenary -
Contractors and independent parties who affiliate with the Black Order. As a errant Knight force, the Black Order has to outsource their manpower on occasion. Those who affiliate are often favored for a particular skill, and are offered invitations to squire under a Knight of the Black.

Squire -
Trainees under the Black Order who serve and apprentice under Knights of the Black Order. Squires vary wildly in power, they've likely not yet learned the code of the Black Order and will, after enough tests, training, and study, will be given a chance to 'take the black'.

Knight -
Knights of the Black Order are established personnel who follow the values of the Black Order. Strong, well trained. Those who are considered Knights 'take the black' and embody it in their armor.

Sunless -
Overseers of the Black Order's parties. They are known as the Sunless, a title that spites the Order of the First Light and their beliefs. It is the Sunless who protects life, in all of its splendor. They're the mentors and decision makers in Black Order parties.

The Black -
The leading force of the Black Order, the infamous Black Knight. While the motive of the individual is unclear, they stand as an enigmatic symbol and force.

Code of The Black

What separates the Black Order from the Order of the First Light is their code, known to those who take the vows:

1. Life is precious, no life weighs more or less than another.
   
2. A combatant has already offered their own life for trade.
   
3. We do not lust for blood, it does not temper our blades.
   
4. Those who cannot fight, must be protected.
   
5. Those who are lost, must be guided, not exterminated.
   
6. Weapons, and magic, are our tools. Not our sentence.
   
7. Evil is evil, the lesser cannot buy us.
   

Behavior

The Black Order adventures throughout Osrona.
They can be found exploring old caves and ruins in search of treasure or mapping out the wilds.
They offer protective services to those in need, or those with coin.
You'll find them defending merchants and travelers in the woods and prairie, or protecting small unnamed and unmarked settlements on the map from abuse, and monster attacks. 
You'll find  them taking up any kind of work outside of Osrona itself that does not go against their code.

Recruitment
