Some time has passed since the Coven was overthrown; the transition of power that birthed the Demonic Council that plagues Meranthe. Under new rule, plumes of black smoke are often seen coming from Abendrot, blotting out much of the sunlight in the region. There was once robed beings who masked themselves in secret are now training warriors, and preparing for battle.

A surge of demonic influence makes the ground tremble, as a new Kaor rises.

Forces of the Khaganates horde now march towards Dal'thala for the transgressions of raising their army, "bearing their teeth," as one Khan said. Rumors spread that the council looks to secure infants for horrid experimentation on the Faeborne bloodline, in hopes to give birth to an abomination. Some have already seen the slave pens being built before the battle, making it quite clear what the intent of Abendrot's military is...
