The Director of the Proto Institute, a genius in his own right, yet, terrible at social relationships, extremely rude and who loves to drink something most of the time. He didn't expect to have children, only the ones he crafted through metal - so you were never really desired by him.

 
And so, you weren't treated very well - to the point of if you wanted something, you had to get it on your own, while always hearing that if you wanted to achieve great things! You will have to work and trace your own path.
 
Also, he constantly threatened to throw you alongside with your sibling, into the Chasm if you two were bothering him while working.

A Desert-Goer, Purveyor, Caravaneer and of course.. Prospector, one with a contagious wanderlust and perhaps the earliest funder of the Proto institute and a somewhat constant presence all along your life. In contrast to your father you might even refer to her a 'dotting' but all in all just someone who made sure you were fed, and not spending the night in the 'CHASM' of all things.
