With the recent skirmishes that gave rise to battlefields appearing across Meranthe, the lurking Coven of Misfortune saw its numbers grow amidst conflict and oppression. An acceptable amount of Acolytes leading to a target within the Coven's mind; to introduce themselves back again into the fold of the continent. Instability the perfect tool to be used within warfare, and with Ryai'sumar's abrupt changing of leadership and becoming an official settlement of Vdalion it seemed the most suitable target, vengeance for those lost within the trials Vdalion held in the past..
                                                    
Throughout the months after; bountiful crops were found withered throughout the town's outskirts; blackened spots spreading from root and stem causing desiccation; livestock's births leading to the deaths of parent and child. But what was most evidence that their was malevolent strings at play was the disappearance of citizens of the town, abducted within the night and only realized at the crack of dawn when it was too late.
