Clan Haust
'Old laws brought by New roads.'

A newly founded clan, lacking in both manpower and history compared to the more storied high clans of Vdalion, Clan Haust has been formed by the Flamespeaker Eitr in order to further an agenda of innovation in service to tradition. The new clan will be primarily focused on Exploration, Alchemical Development, and Magical Experimentation. While mainly recruiting amongst those of Vdalish birth, Haust will accept those of foreign origin, so long as they are willing to swear an oath of service to the Clan and to the realm of Vdalion, severing loyalties to their old nation. Any foreign born must also demonstrate a suitable level of commitment to the Traditions and culture of Vdalion.

Scholars and Sorcerers

As a clan devoted to magical and Alchemical research and the exploration of the unknown, Haust expects a level of ingenuity from it's members, a devotion to the pursuit of new means by which Vdalion's prosperity may be secured. However, in equal measure it demands discipline and devotion to the ancient traditions of the first realm. New spells, and new potions are often the most dangerous, and so one who wishes to join Haust must alloy caution with curiosity as they seek new horizons.

Clan Structure

Gothar - The head of the Clan, tasked with providing direction to the clans research and exploration.

Vardir - The Sorcerer Scholars of the Vardir serve as advisors to the Gothar, each intended to be an expert in a given field of magic.

Gealdor - The Gealdor are the aides of the Vardir, as the Vardir advise the Gothar, so too do the Gealdor make up the staff and advisors of the Vardir.

Karl - Clan members of proven loyalty and competence. Be they of martial or scholarly inclination.

Drengnar - The Unproven, those who have expressed interest and taken oaths of loyalty, but have yet to be tested.

Those who have interest in joining Clan Haust, should seek out Eitr in Grimjhall, or DM me at Enginseer-42#5209 to set up a scene.

A Litany Revealed

Following the conclusion of the grand moot to decide the fate of Necromancy in Vdalion, a notice would go out to from the hall of Haust. A notice of a new litany, for necromancers not followers of Samir Tal but instead followers of the Hofgothi and priests of the Zealots.

The Litany of Sacrifice.

Though much of the gory details of Necromancy remains obscured in the announcement, the tenets of this litanies code are published for all to see.

1.) So long as the sky remains shattered, our work is not yet complete. Only in the healing of Helheim's wound is our duty fulfilled.
2.) To disturb the rest of the Righteous dead, or to allow the Unrighteous dead peace is Anathema.
3.) Do not raise the dead idly, but ever seek out the redeemable souls to aid them on their journey.
4.) Trust not the wicked, nor the despairing, nor those hungry for power for they will turn the arts towards Hels will.
5.) Necromancy is a transgression, even the most righteous of practitioners must bear penance for it.
6.) Act with care, consider the act nine times before raising the dead.
7.) Trust not the Bane-Thrall, but make use of them. Their souls are weighted with their crimes, but even they can be forced to serve the good of Mankind, with sufficient mastery.
8.) Aid with all your means the Einherjar on the path of Redemption, for theirs is the journey of Heroes.
9.) When the great wound is mended, and the sky whole once again, Necromancy must be practiced no more.

Any who would take up the art of Necromancy for the greater good of Vdalion and Meranthe, who would swear themselves to the above code may present themselves to Eitr of Haust for training in the Necromantic arts.
