A Place of Healing

I wish on this day, to take a break, from the politics, from war, from witch hunts, from everything else that is hard in life, and today, I wish for all of us dear readers, to reflect on healing, the the mending of wounds, both Physical and Emotional, both between people, and between nations.

Now as you may know from my other articles, I take a pretty hard stance against war. I try to advocate at every possible moment for peace, and camradire between people, for what are nations but the people that make them up?

That is why I wish to put a spotlight on a Place of Healing, one that is made with nothing but the purest of hearts I may have ever met, and one who genuinely cares about healing people no matter the place, or where they come from. Be it Vdalion, Delphina, Aphros, A refugee, Port Fortune, it matters not, she will help heal you, both Physically, and if she can mentally as well.

That is the name of the game of The Sleeping Mary, run by a wonderful young Doctor named Cherry, I have personally known her for quite some time, and have seen her become quite an excellent physician, and wish to aid her cause of healing the sick and injured by putting her words, and her clinic out there for people to know about, in case they need it.

This interview was an absolutely amazing one. I love hearing people who are just genuinely passionate about their work, especially when it comes from such a joyous and pure standpoint, what could be more admirable than healing? Doing it at a cost to oneself on both a financial level as the entire thing is free, and most likely on an emotional and spiritual one as well, as being a Physician can take its toll on a person, I am one, I should know.

Q: "So, Cherry, What exactly are you opening? and where is it? What's its purpose? ``And What is your name, for the record?"

A: "I am Cherry, I am a doctor! I am opening a clinic called [The sleeping Mary]. It will open to the west of the swamp on the mainland. This clinic will be free for all, giving medical attention to whoever needs it no matter their political affiliations or the source of the injury. I only ask that neutrality is respected on and around the premise."

"I also will offer mental and emotional support. The goal is to make the world a bit of a better place, lessen the impact of violence and bring positivity onto Meranthe."

Q:"Oh cute name! Any reason for it? Special significance or what have you? And where did you receive training as a doctor? What is your background? Are you from any nations originally?"

A: "Well, the name's source is also part of the answer of your future question about where I've received training!"

"My teacher is Rosemary Corvus, she is part of the caravan of traders! I've named the clinic Sleeping Mary in honor of her, since she's always dozing off! She is a wonderful person and a skilled doctor and she trained me for almost nothing in exchange. I want to mirror that kindness to others!"

"And well as for my background and nation, I've been raised by my grandmother in isolation mostly, somewhere remote in the Delphinian forest. I wouldn't exactly say I have affiliations with any nations, although I spend most of my time at Port Fortune these days."

Q:"Those are wonderful reasons to open a clinic, and I forgot you were raised by your grandma."

"So let's talk about the cost, how much are you charging at this clinic?"

A: "Well, as stated earlier this clinic will be free! Donations of coins, ores, and herbs will be appreciated only in order to be able to continue operation and perhaps be able to offer greater care to clients with the use of more complex medicine and such, however no one will be expected nor required to contribute in any way."

"The other thing I would greatly appreciate is volunteers. But as stated.... No reward other than the potential of learning medicine if you are uninitiated and the pleasure of helping do good."

Q: "Oh volunteers? Im sure we can put that in the article, do you have a place letters can easily reach you? and it is to be a school of sorts as well? help train the next generation of medics in Meranthe?"

A: "Well, more a sort of practical school, I guess. We will need all the hands we can get, for war is always a looming threat and I plan on offering support to the wounded of all sides, victors or not. Even someone not trained can easily tag along and be of use, and part of making Meranthe a better world is also teaching to others how to lessen the grave cost of violence. It would be my pleasure to do my best and impart the knowledge I've had the pleasure to gain myself so that they can further assist in my lifelong goal, may it be under the roof of the Sleeping Mary or anywhere else."

"And as for an address, I am currently residing on Port Fortune. A letter addressed to Cherry should arrive there with little issue!"

Q:"Yeah less death WOULD be nice after all, alright any other comments you wanna give before we wrap up? Im mostly outta questions now."

A:"I would like to use this opportunity you've given me to voice a word to all the people of Meranthe. I would like to remind you all that every drop of blood spilled matters. No matter the justification you find, no matter your beliefs or ideals, there is never a time where violence should become a solution taken for granted or done with enjoyment or without question. Please, I beg of you, remind yourselves that life is precious and is worthy of being preserved.

If you would like to assist me in this task in any way at all, please message me as soon as possible. We can make a change. We can dent the darkness. Together we will bring warmth and love to Meranthe."

As I said, Passionate is the name of the game here today, and Cherry is a joy to talk with! I personally ask from each of you dear readers to help out in any way you can, because she is doing this entirely for free, be you a patient, if you have something you can donate, do it, if your a medic, your time and skill is invaluable, I could of course go on, but I think that last line by Cherry herself was enough of an explanation for the reasons why this is a great project that deserves support from everyone in Meranthe.

This kind of thing, brings hope and good into the land of Meranthe, and is the kind of thing I hope will keep being able to report on, for we must remember, that not everything is darkness. That there IS good happening in this world, despite the darkness that is encroaching.
