A very recent Noble Family, the Istorikó line originates from Markos 'the Elder' cos Istorikó, born 1608 AC. A Hessalian-born Knight who served with distinction in the Conquest, Markos was notable for rallying a small group of men under his command to facilitate the evacuation of protection of a number of civilians during the Sack of Hessalia. Under his direction, the Knight's soldiers held out in an abandoned fort a few hours west of Hessalia with a hundred civilians, including three noble families. They repelled numerous attacks by the Rhoynish invaders over the course of the twelve days it took the first of the First Light detachment for the Constellus Fortress to arrive, during which Markos 'the Elder' lost his legs and left arm bravely defending the Hessalian refugees. As a result of this, following the Treaty of Hessalia Queen Ariadni II recognised Markos as a war hero and formally made the Istorikó family a noble house.
House Istorikó, despite being a minor family, was very vocal in the aftermath of the Conquest, with Markos the Elder speaking out in favour of relegating the Rhoynish taken as reparation to hard labour as the only form of acceptable servitude. He was actively against granting the Rhoynish citizenship, although his words were not heeded. The family -which was based in Hessalia during the reconstruction, and primarily remains so to this day- is still somewhat too new to yet have a speciality like so many other houses, but since the death of its first Lord, there has been an increased focus in acquisition of historical artifacts at auction or on research digs, under the direction of its second Lord, Markos the Younger.
