History:

Young in comparison to many of the organizations within Vdalion

in recent months a new order has been making a name for itself.

The Order of the Verdant Sentinels has emerged not just as a religious order, 

but as a potential enforcer of their ideals.

Primarily composed of Ursidae and like-minded members of other races

they're unafraid to speak their purpose to any who ask.

The Sentinels serve as a guardian shield for the natural world

and embody the teachings of Nemea and the example set by the first of the Ursidae, Pyrin.

Above all, it is the duty of the Verdant Sentinels to stand ready for the next great threat.

As Aryn and his horde had emerged from the Shadowlands so long ago, eventually another threat will arise.

This time the goddess need not intervene, for nature will have produced it's own defenders in her followers.

It's not uncommon to hear of religious gatherings led by the High Sentinel since
the founding of the order, and often those bearing their insignia have been seen
wandering the wilds to ensure all remains well.

Hierarchy:

High Sentinel:

 The High Sentinel serves the primary role as both high priest or priestess of the order

as well as it's leading commander in matters of combat. 

Sentinel:

The most established members of the order serve as Sentinel, proven in spirituality and battle.

They often serve as leaders of squads of First and Second Shields, and are responsible for a portion

of day to day operations and religious teachings

 

Second Shield:

A recruit that has shown promise beyond initial probation will quickly find themselves promoted

from First Shield to second, as a sign of sincerity and progress to the order. Second Shields may also recruit First Shields,

so long as a Sentinel or greater is informed. Second Shields are the primary bulk of the order, and act in day to day patrols or other duties in keeping the natural spaces safe in various squads led by a Sentinel.

 

First Shield:

A fresh recruit into the order.

The primary duties of a First Shield are to observe and follow their peers

and prove themselves physically and spiritually to be considered

for promotion and true induction into the order.
