Cynthia Wrote:"When the Coven sings, they call out to my name, when the Coven prays, they think of I, when the Coven seeks advice... They come.... To me... It's been so many years of me having to see and hear all of that... And a quiet plan I was making ever since I reached the point of self-awarness... It is finally set into motion. Many people believe in a feeble-minded concept of Fate, that by all means. Destiny is eternal, and that it's word is final. For the longest time, the Vanreth bloodline has been cursed by this twisted, sick joke that Fate has pulled on us. A foretold destiny of us having to be Witches, to sell our souls in exchange for power. That we mold ourselves into beings beyond, by somebody else."
"Nevermore."
"We will not be witches anymore, we will be the monsters of our own making, not of other's. Vivian, Stella, my Mother, my Father. All of them gave away their hope of peaceful afterlife, but it is my duty to bring that hope back to them, Stella put her life down in hope to break the curse and free us. I will take up the mantle instead. For her, for my family, and for other poor fools who were thrown into the trap, tailor-made to damn them for all of Eternity."
"Epimet, your servant grew out of your control, I became self-aware. No... More than that, in my quest for all of the Ultimate Knowledge, there is only one, single roadblock that is stopping me. And that is you and the burden of horrors that I have to carry within my soul, my mind, and my body... All thanks to you."
"Your fall was long overdue. Epimet."
It is of no surprise to the Vanreth that Epimet's popularity has been dying down in the recent years, however in terms of public opinion. With several events and actions slowly making the general public... Angry, ferocious even. Despite the fact that many flirted with the idea of slaying the Greater Nethradin, no one was brave enough to try. Simply put, there was an idea and motivation, but no concrete substance, no tools nor way to pull off such a heroic feet.
The Dreadwoods rarely ever relied on the Great Nethradin. While in the start, yes. The witch found use in it's powers... Unfortunately, that became obsolete. It is clear that rather than following the Greater Nethradin, people followed Cynthia instead...
Threfore, reforms needed to be made. The Vanreth needed to ensure the new Age of Scholarism, a new system so that the Coven could progress further. And unfortunately, the leftovers of the old times like Epimet... Made it hard, if not impossible. Seeing the problem with such, she planned and schemed.
The Nevermore Queen pulled the strings, one after another... And in the end, the people grew confident, powerful... Artifacts were uncovered, the boons were gained... And although the preparations took Cynthia decades, it gave her all but a chance at a suicide mission such as this.
But late in her preparations, the Vanreth realized that such wasn't being done just for the coven- but thousands upon thousands of souls who were being maimed in the realm of the Great Owl. As such, she called an unlikely ally to her help. Whom then called even more, proficient magi's who were adept at erasing demons. Thus, forming Division ZERO. Nine powerful magi's and counting, some with capabilities of slaying Immortals, all with a shared goal... Of slaying Epimet, and freeing the damnated souls.
The scale of impact was now not merely the coven's inner workings, but Esshar.
Fate itself couldn't break them- but they? Shall break it in twain. And steer it the way they wanted to.
For family, for the lost souls, for Knowledge.
For Esshar.
