Shortly after your birth, your father convinced your mother to move off continent, and now the two are rarely seen in Esshar, that is until now, as you've expressed interest in meeting the rest of your family and seeing the place of your births for yourselves.
Robert often gave you all the love you could handle just on his own, being the one of the pair that was much more ready to have children when you were born. And with your mother's love added on, it wouldn't be wrong to feel smothered by your parents. However Robert also gave you as much freedom as you wanted, and allowed you work with him in the forge if you so wished. Although he has extensive knowledge of alchemy, he only employs it to make remedies for sicknesses for the locals. It's highly unlikely he would have taught you alchemy.
Robert is and was always proud of his last names, and will address himself with his full name to strangers. You were not encouraged nor discouraged from using these last names as well, and you know of the family who these names came from, however you haven't seen them much since you were young.
