I think cooking should be a tiered occupation just like Alchemy and Artificing. Each rank unlocking more complicated recipes that req. either more diverse or rarer ingredients to make. I think to integrate the current iteration of cooking would be doable as well. I think the energy food provides should also receive a buff over all and cap at 1500 possible energy to help with scaling. (Cause at present time, there's literally no one making things like riceballs, tortillas or bread when pork is readily available to make jerky early on etc.) Sidenote: I feel people grind through the other profession tiers way too quickly as well in regards to Artificing and Alchemy. If they have a large enough stockpile of materials to spam through. Legit can reach T1 in either in about 3 days easily. To remedy that, I'd propose they follow suit to the cooking exp system where you can only gain 1% per X hours, and I think a fair balance to keep players interested yet still make the goal of mastering professions achievable in a reasonable amount of time would be to lower the check to 2hours. IE. Alchemy and Artificing could also have their own % scalings just like cooking and fishing, and you'd only gain the exp point once per few hours to encourage people to try it yet prevent cheesing proficiency by just spamming the activity.

There are also ingredients that are under utilized in the game thus far. And this is just my thoughts on how to make the lesser used items already existing in the game. Likewise, items that are only used in single recipes such as vinegar or items that don't have a use might be included in future recipes etc, but this is just an idea of what the tiered lists and advancement might look like.

A big change I'd like to see is lessening the types of ingredients.  ESPECIALLY for fishing.  Right now there's basically no difference between Bass, Bream and Salmon.  New fishers need to have ELEVEN slots available if they want to go fishing (rod + 10 types of fish).  That increases to FOURTEEN for advanced fishers.

Right now, wheat/rice/cabbage/tomato/mushrooms/whatever are all effectively the same thing.  Plant seed, get ingredient.

I'd try simplifying it to just "grain", "Vegetable", "Mushroom", "fruit", "meat", "small fish", and "large fish".

Also look at the ingredients vs the stat boosts. Biscuits vs Pancakes for example.  Add Jam, and get nothing out of it.  I don't have time right now to critically evaluate the entire cooking list, but you really should evaluate the stat boosts of a particular dish against the rarity of ingredients, number of ingredients, and number of subcombines, rather than just by the 'type' of food it is.
