Waystone Inn - Grand Opening

-About the Waystone-

Waystone Inn is officially opening it's doors for business. Constructed by the enigmatic Teraphim Elekio Elrich, from Mt. Glor'i in far-eastern Mu, many it's goods and wares are distinctly foreign. It's a small place, having no rooms for rent, but primarily being a rest-stop. Often travellers will set up camp here for a night, and tents often sit scattered about with gentle fires, accented with red, dying embers. The Waystone itself is strong in design, a opalescent wood resembling mahogany, yet shimmering faintly when in the moonlight. Inside, strange musical crystals chorus mellow music upon it's rafters, this can be heard faintly from outside, as a gentle lullaby for those weary to wrestle their wagons into place, and bed down. Inside, it is plain, scant decorations in sight, yet warmth radiating from the crystals above brings comfort to those within. It is above all things, a place of peace, a place of comfort, and a small taste of home to many of Esshar's prominent non-magi merchants. They can often be seen peddling their wares upon the tavern floor, jubilantly yet respectfully selling all manner of things brought in from all over Esshar.

Located on the crossroads between Achyon, Osrona, Garjling's Coat, and Moxtli it's central location will make it an excellent place to get goods for those who don't like the back-breaking work of travelling across Esshar. The prices are generally cheap, it is said the Teraphim owner refuses profit upon goods in excess of what it takes to keep the Waystone in running order. He is also said to buy all manner of goods, paid for in coin, to those seeking to unload years worth of miscellaneous items from their cupboards. Oft he will make arrangements with those fine artisans of Esshar to sell their goods within his shop, free of commission, so long as there is space upon the shelves, and demand for the goods.

-About Business-
Anyone can do business with the Waystone Inn. Common goods, such as foodstuffs, alchemy ingredients, ores, and items of that variety may be sold to Elekio Elrich directly. (Avee#3456) He will often buy such goods at a reasonable price without hassle, then proceed to sell the items to the non-magi merchants who frequent the place, who then sell to those who visit the Waystone. (This is done at a 5% mark-up, should I buy something from you for 10c, you can expect to see it being sold for 12c. This isn't done for profit, but for maintaining the rent of the stalls, mostly for the purposes of moving goods around to those who need them.)

Items such as armor, weapons, potions, and such may be sold on a commission-free basis, meaning one can speak with Elekio Elrich (Avee#3456), to have a good of theirs sold within the Waystone, and the money made from such weapon then being available for pick-up. Delivery of the silver gained from the transaction, may be subject to a modest fee. (This is done for crafters who might not have a stall to sell at, or for overstocked stalls. The fee for delivery will never exceed 100c.)

Other arrangements for particularly unusual goods may be arranged with Elekio Elrich (Avee#3456) as needed, just speak with him!

-Why the hell are you doing this?-

I prefer simple merchant RP, and often don't have time to play the game as intended. I have also been mapping frequently, and this will give me something to idly handle whilst I am mapping. I will not be having immense complex scenes with people, if this is what you wish, I apologize if that is the case. If people wish to have complex scenes within the Waystone, or set up bum-traveller tents and campfires outside of the Waystone, I will not mind. You are free to do as you wish.

The hours I am online are 7PM EST - 12AM EST generally, though this occasionally shifts with demands from my job or other life needs. If you wish to arrange a sale, and cannot get me at a time I am online, I apologize, but shoot me a DM on Discord (Avee#3456) and I will be happy to help you out if I can.

Waystone Inn Update

The Waystone Inn, run by the enigmatic Teraphim, Elekio Elrich, sits on the crossroads of four cities. Word would spread, likely through merchants that oft take the route from location to location, that the Waystone has changed it's business practices. These would be posted upon the billboard outside of the Waystone, however, you personally are likely to hear it from assorted background discussion within merchant circles. Further information could likely be gleaned from Elekio Elrich himself. (Avee#3456)

Change in Business Practices
  • Fairy Powder has it's price increased to 800c until further notice, due to the detection of a black market surrounding the product.
  • 'Verified Practitioner' issuances may be issued by Elekio Elrich, upon receipt of proof that the person wishing for an issuance is indeed a practicing alchemist.
  • Issuances will be notarized within the Waystone's notary, thusly you will not be required to carry it upon you.
  • Alchemists with an Issuance will be sold Fairy Powder at the reduced price of 550c to 650c depending on the current stock of the product.

If you are an individual who cannot be expected to be available during the Waystone's Standard Hours (7PM-12PM EST) merely contact Elekio Elrich through post (Discord Avee#3456), and an issuance will be issued for you upon receipt of proof of practice.

As always, the Waystone Inn is grateful for your continued business.

Waystone Inn Update

The Waystone Inn, run by the enigmatic Teraphim, Elekio Elrich, sits on the crossroads of four cities. Word would spread, likely through merchants that oft take the route from location to location, that something has changed about the Waystone. The change is obvious, a small expansion is built out from the side of the Inn. It's said that late at night, the grinding of regents, and the boiling of brews can be heard by those who pitch their tents closely to the safety of the Inn's walls.

Things have changed inside as well, some of these merchants would mention, likely in bewilderment. The smell of lavender now compliments the chorus of chiming crystals hovering above the rafters. Some say this is a sign of the Waystone's middling success, others say it's the man with the pointy hat, moving to-and-fro wild as a whisk at times, consulting with the merchants. Some say his name is Atticus, others say he has no name at all, yet one thing has become plainly clear, he is something of a fixture within the Inn, much as the enigmatic Teraphim Elekio.

Change in Business Practices
  • A new shop; 'Pointy Hat Goods' has begun selling goods and services within the Waystone Inn.
  • Atticus, the proprietor of 'Pointy Hat Goods' will, when available, brew potions upon request. You must have the regents needed prior to the request. A small commission may be requested based on the complexity of the potion in question.
  • This will does not effect the Waystone Inn's willingness to sell potions from outside suppliers.

If you need to speak with Atticus and he is not available, contact Elekio Elrich through the post instead. (Discord Avee#3456) He will arrange something between yourself and Atticus, should the need be pressing enough.

The change is obvious, a moderate expansion is built out from the side of the Inn. It's said that late at night, the lanterns visible from within are rare to extinguish, a constant a brisk activity has overtaken the humble inn, from both within, and without, and it has become a minor nexus within the region.

These merchants, talking amongst themselves in a manner many casual listeners would hear, would mention the fairly new clinic, run by the studious Dr. Leilani. Her own smells of tinctures and antiseptics now mingling with those of the Waystone proper. The benevolent odors are mentioned by those having been within as unusual, yet pleasant. A small resting-lobby as been added as well, though this only seems to be used by the strange cast of characters that are employed or otherwise associated with the peculiar little inn.

Others still, talk of the rooms for rent, or that were for rent, having recently been snapped up by eager passers-by, yet this it not all they mention, for they also speak in excited whispers of the meeting soon, where all of the strange figures that work within will gather for an update on the business conducted by the Waystone Staff.

Change in Business Practices
  • A new shop; 'White Mage's Den' has begun selling goods and services within the Waystone Inn.
  • Dr. Leilani, the proprieter of the Clinic and the 'White Mage's Den' will, if available, be able to treat your ills and ailments. A commission may be requested based on the complexity of the trauma you have received.
Updates
  • A meeting will be held this Sunday at 9PM[EST]/8PM[CST] to discuss fiscal policy within the Waystone.
  • All associated with the Waystone are requested to attend, this includes Suppliers.
  • Outsiders are welcome to attend, as well as people who might wish to conduct business, or work for the Waystone.
  • Outside Hostilities are to be left within your own cities, should you attend.

If you need to speak with Leilani, and she is not available, contact Elekio Elrich through the post instead. (Discord Avee#3456) He will arrange something between yourself and Leilani, should this be pressing enough.

As always, the Waystone Inn is grateful for your continued business.

Note : I'm aware this expansion has existed for a time, but we ran into some mapping issues which delayed it, followed by myself briefly becoming very busy IRL. Better late than never? Maybe. I apologize for the delay.

Waystone Inn Update

The Waystone Inn, run by the enigmatic Teraphim, Elekio Elrich, sits on the crossroads of four cities. Word would spread, slow in it's initial pickup, yet rapid in it's dispersal. The conflict recently passing in the region interrupting trade, yet not interrupting the dedicated staff of the Waystone. Merchants eventually get the message, and the word spreads with them. The Waystone has only become more busy despite it all, expanding once more.

The rumors ebb and flow, yet there are commonalities amongst the stories. A young foreign woman, Simone Montiel, has opened her shop within the Waystone, with her business partner Eddy, a blind lad seemingly native to Esshar. Her manners are said to be mild, though her accent can shift and sway. His are said to be unusual, though he has a strangely girly look about him. This young Magnolian woman has re-opened a shop Esshar, with the help of her partner, that was once familiar with before the catastrophe that was Saekanis brought much ruin to the region. Faust & Frelore Companies, otherwise known as F&F Co. has once again opened it's doors in Esshar, doing business out of the Waystone Inn. Her shop smells of coriander, and the shelves bear dozens of knick-knacks that can only be associated with the isolationist nation of Magnolia. F&F Co. is known for it's General Wares, having no strong preference for any particular goods.

Change in Business Practices

  • A new shop; 'Faust & Frelore' has begun selling goods and services within the Waystone Inn.
  • Miss Simone Montiel and Eddy the proprietors of 'Faust and Frelore' will, if available, be able to assist you with alchemy and artificer needs. A  small commission may be requested depending on the complexity of the work needed.

If you need to speak with Simone or Eddy, and they are not available, contact Elekio Elrich through the post instead. (Discord Avee#3456) He will arrange something between yourself and Simone or Eddy, should this be pressing enough.

Waystone Inn Update

The Waystone Inn, run by the enigmatic Teraphim, Elekio Elrich, sits on the crossroads of four cities. Slower to spread due to the nature of the update itself, rumor would only be whispered in the academic circles of Esshar, by the few whom had passed by the Waystone Inn during their travels from city to city.

They speak not in hushed whispers, trying to maintain a business advantage, but in the bold manner typical of those with a love of knowledge. The Waystone has a small classroom available for lessons. Supposedly they Waystone Inn offers this service completely free of charge, for the use of those whom might need a small common place to gather to spread their knowledge to their peers, in a place they might do so privately.

Change in Business Practices
  • A new room has been added to the Waystone Inn, this classroom is the leftmost door next to the clinic.
  • The room is free to use, should you have lessons that you wish to distribute, but lack a common location to meet within. Additionally, this may be used by minor guilds for meetings, as needed.
  • If there is another lesson going on, you must wait until it's conclusion, as due to the nature of the classroom, a schedule isn't kept.

If you need to use the room, and you have questions, contact Elekio Elrich through the post instead. (Discord Avee#3456) He will answer any questions you might have.

Waystone Inn Update

The mercantile inn that was once run by the enigmatic teraphim, Elekio Elrich, has found to bear a new proprietor. Within the central marketplace, the Xuantongian—Ema Okabe—has begun to take in the duties of Waystone's upkeep and general operations in the teraphim's ever mysterious absence.

Ever since the location's renovation to its outer façade, traffic has only gone up through the crossroad-destined inn. And along with such, plenty of more changes are en-route now that it is under new management. However, the proprietor remains clear in the location's initial intentions: Waystone Inn is, and will always be, a neutral place. What city you are from, whatever history you bear, whatever ethnicity you live with, all that matters not. As long as you are here to peacefully spend your gold, you will find service with a smile.

In celebration of the inn's upcoming anniversary, the proprietor has taken the initiative to produce a wonderful auction. The items up for grabs? Imported goods from all over the world, many of which one may never find in Esshar this easily. Such is merely a taste of what is to come in the future, most especially with the new management's presumed projects.

One may begin placing their bids here!

In tandem with such celebrations, the inn is proud to present a new line of collectibles that will surely wow and entice any enthusiast, collector, or hobbyist in Esshar. Waystone Inn is now producing collectible figures depicting known figures of Esshar!

These vinyl figurines are crafted by the new proprietor herself. Such care and detail is taken in its creation; thus, to add more to its ever elusive and desirable nature, these figurines will be in limited stocks! So buy one while you can!

The figurines can be purchased from Little Lana's (second page of the stall) in the outdoor courtyard of Waystone Inn today!

Word flies that more figurines are in the works, notably of names that line the lips of Esshar and those who's name has gone down in the country's varried hsitory.

For any future inquiries to the usage of Waystone Inn's facilities, applications, collaborations, or any official business at all, please contact Ema Okabe (ludster#3285).

Waystone Inn Update

The seven years of continuous service under the watchfully golden gaze of the current Proprietor has allowed Waystone Inn to flourish into a successful presence of a new and improved inn. Services have been pushing off nonstop and patrons have shifted between the halls with a satisfied smile upon each of their faces.

And despite the progress, it seems like the inn has no where else to go but up.

Recent construction work has continuously come to and fro around the general vicinity of Waystone, specifically that of an interior renovation in-line with its previous exterior upgrades. Ergo Waystone is happy to announce more shop space along with more inn rooms for happy patrons to make use of to their pleasure!

Furthermore, the addition of facilities such as an indoor arena and an event hall with a stage for public use for hosted events, parties, tournaments, and other needs for wide spaces and gatherings is now open to the Inn's patron! Along with such facilities, there has been rumors about another addition to the inn itself far beneath its surface, but the Proprietor merely shrugs it off as mindless hearsays and bard's tales.

Along with upgrades to its infrastructure, Waystone has also been gracious hosts to budding groups from all walks of life. Many have found refuge in making use of the inn's facilities to host their own activities of various focuses, and the staff wishes to shed light on the prominent two of them as a spotlight.

For any questions or clarifications, please seek out the play's director.

In addition, to celebrate all these recent announcements, the Proprietor will be hosting a one night only evening auction to be held within the new dinner hall in Waystone Inn. All bids will be kept solely to those present on its evening, along with an open raffle for all those who come to attendance! Words spread that the line of items up for bid are much more rarer than the previous ones.

The Prioprietor makes it clear that this auction is open for everyone. For one night, Waystone staff will serve all walks of life for as long as order is upheld throughout the bids.

For more information on the items to be offered, stay tuned for a full announcement!

The auction will take place in Waystone Inn's Dinner Hall this Saturday, May 8 to begin at 8PM EST.

Lastly, Waystone Inn wishes to advise its current pool of humble shop and stall owners of an upcoming evaluation on goods and services to the Inn. Waystone upholds quality in what is provided to its patrons, thus an act like this is integral to keep good service flowing throughout the inn.

All Waystone Inn shopowners are advised to meet or send a missive to the Proprietor, Ema Okabe, at their earliest convenience before the start of 1844 AC

Those who do not send a letter will find their spot revoked and provided to better store handlers.

Since the days of its humble beginnings in the hands of Elekio Elrich, well over half a century of The Waystone Inn's proprietorship has occurred underneath the esteemed legend Ema Okabe. Countless auctions and festivities performed, with business booming as ever -- It would be an understatement to say that the legacy she's held was anything short of success and perfection.

However, at last, a change of hands upon the trade-hub's wheel has occurred once more.

With Ema mir Okabe stepping down as Proprietor after her long tenureship, her son, Majin mir Okabe has been named the new Proprietor of the establishment.

As Proprietor, the following set of announcements have been made by the Okabe:
  • With the new Proprietor's status as an Executive of The Network, an official partnership has been announced between the Waystone and the organization, with it to serve as a base of operations for those who wish to do business with it.

  • There are no plans to change the Waystone's age-old policy of neutrality! From Hel-spawn*, to the members of the First Light, all are welcomed with open arms so long as they bring commerce. However it is encouraged to keep violence off of the premises themselves as, to quote the Proprietor himself  -"Cleaning blood out of wooden floorboards is a pain in the ass."
  • Failure to adhere to the above may result in anything from fines, to death depending on the severity of the transgression.
  • *The officially hired bouncer of the Waystone is one Goethe cos Duran. His tolerance towards Nethradin is quite minimal, and literal Hel-spawn are cordially warned to keep their heads down.

  • Plans for further expansions to the Waystone and its interior are underway, with promises of further living accommodations for those who choose to call the Waystone their home.

  • Leonidas ven Grimmore, cousin to the Proprietor and fellow Executive of The Network is offering free medical treatment, using his own supplies, to those willing to have whatever has been damaged replaced with magitech parts, pending the further renovations to the Waystone (free mithril kit perm treatments!)

  • Plans for a future auction to take place upon the premises within the dining hall are underway. (Date: TBD) Potential interested patrons are encouraged to begin saving their coin for the big event, as many of The Network's wares will be put on for eager bidders to take a shot at!

With some years passing since the proprietorship of the Inn had shifted, news is finally spread of the rumored auction spoken of by the Okabe himself.

The date is scheduled for Sunday, January 2nd, 2022 at 6pm EST, and will occur within the premises of the Waystone itself -- Located within the dining hall found just off to the left within the Inn. It is encouraged that any and all potential grievances with other attendees are left at the door for the duration of the event to allow business to proceed smoothly and profitably.

Potential attendees are encouraged to begin saving their coin, as many artifacts within both the Proprietor's personal collection, along with those held by members of The Network, are set to be placed up to be claimed by the highest bidders!

In other news, renovations to the Waystone continue! Expansions can be expected within the next few years.

The Waystone continues to welcome all whom desire to shop there, and continued business is appreciated as always.
