(OOC: These will be occurring throughout the week as mini-events, as and when teams are ready, starting tomorrow with the bookmakers favorites, the DMAS at 4PM EST. Arrange a good time/date with your team. A warper NPC will be set up to the coliseum.)

How the score system works:
Every time someone is knocked down, the team loses 1 point. Each stage has three levels, for a total of nine levels.

A total team wipe in two out of three levels during a stage disqualifies your team from continuing to the next stage. You still gain the Quarts Award in exchange for your ticket, but do not roll for that stage's rewards.

A team that finishes all nine levels with 14 total knock downs would have a score of 86. The higher your score, the more likely you'll be the team that wins the mystery prize.

Each time someone is knocked down, they /roll. 3 or less = light temp (-20vit), stacking thrice before a light -5 vit perm is dealt.

With the conclusion of the games, the Quarts Boxes are dispatched throughout Esshar to the ticket holders. Additionally, there are extra prizes:

Despite not being a grand staple of magi society in recent years, the Quarts Company has set out to put on yet another spectacle. This time, however, there are certain restrictions that were not in place prior.

Letters are sent out to many thousands of magi and the respective representatives of the kingdoms of Esshar, including those which linger on the fringe of society. The greatest fighters in the country will likely be in attendance.

"You are hereby invited to attend the Grand Tournament of 1861, and your presence has been requested by the Quarts Company."

"You agree to the following:"
"I am capable of feats of magic and power, but will leave all blood feuds at the door and respect my host's state of independence. I will fight and act honorably throughout the duration of the Grand Tournament."

"Furthermore, vampires and those who practice witchcraft, as well as monsters are barred from participating in this tournament. Their safety will not be assured should they show up uninvited. Leaders are also barred from participating."

The prizes are as follows:
A slight alteration from what was originally offered, the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place combatants will receive 30k coins, 20k coins, and 10k coins respectively, as well as a choice between five different rewards, going from 1st place choice onwards.

These will include a Tier A blade, an amulet, a ring, special boots, and a special cloak.

Per custom and tradition there will be a priceless Chiron gem for a lucky combatant chosen in a raffle consisting of those who participated.

OOC: With revelations regarding another event going on at the same time, this has been rescheduled to Saturday, July 31st, to begin at 6 PM EST.

The Grand Tournament of 1861 ended with Auxis narrowly defeating the the Rhoynish 'King' Blair Dayndros, thus becoming the new Champion of Esshar. A nail biter to the very end, this tournament is one for the history books! With near record participation, the Quarts Company is reportedly already drawing up plans for potential future events, though nothing is certain as of yet!

Furthermore, the Top Eight are to be recognized across Esshar for their esteemed achievement, as well as their tenacity and perseverance throughout their rounds in the tournament as a whole. The placements were as follows:

In commemoration of the newly renovated Starfall Academy, the Quarts Company has decided to throw a special tournament. A day of bouts between those below the age of seventeen.

The prizes of the tournament are shrouded in mystery, though it is rumored that the Quarts Company has acquired quite a few interesting artifacts and trinkets. Not to mention rumors which state that the company has been forging a rather peculiar weapon.
