ludsterA couple of materials of Osrona
#1
Something that was nice back in Eternia 1 was that entire page of materials in the wiki. Though some of it found its way as mechanical items in the game already, I figured maybe fleshing out more uncommon things to maybe pick up through events might seem nice (or eventually become mechanical things, idk, chance is fickle and might or might not like these). But at least my general target is to give flavor, inspiration, and ideas for any would be crafter or person that wants to make their sword cooler or something idk

ill even give it those tier rankings for the full nostalgia factor

(This is by no means an exhaustive list. It'll probably get bigger depending on what people request in events and stuff. or if i ever decide to add more)

EDIT: to the non-boomers, here's a link to the old Materials of Valmasia page

Minerals
Quote:Celestial Ashes
Density F | Sturdiness F | Mystical Capabilities S+ | Refining Difficulty S+ | Rarity S+

Fairy tales tell of revered stars one day dwindling to a weakened state. Much like the circle of life, everything must come to an end at some point. When a star finds its end, whether it be natural or unnatural ways, it takes a millennia for its dust to eventually reach Eternia.
Popular among The Faith, these ashes are often regarded as living relics. Placed upon urns that are revered in their churches, it is often extremely rare to find these not in their caring hands. However, a notable few and undocumented accounts reveal magi that have used these ashes to empower their spellcasting foci in the ultimate connection between them and the cosmos.

Frisms
Density C+ | Sturdiness C | Mystical Capabilities B | Refining Difficulty B | Rarity B+

Often times, stones and rocks found near the planet's core heat up to an incredible degree. Yet when these things find themselves in the exact opposite circumstance in a short period of timelike say flash frozenan incredible reaction occurs. The stone becomes frigid cold yet at the slightest touch can burn even the skin of ice magian extreme version of frostbite if you will.
Though the biggest challenge would be its handling for use. Many blacksmiths often lose a hand from the sheer exposure to the material, thus it requires an extensive set of precautionary measures to embed into any weapon. On any martial weapon alone will allow it to impose the frigid cold frostbite on any that is smitten by it.

Ghost Mythril
Density A | Sturdiness A | Mystical Capabilities A+ | Refining Difficulty B+ | Rarity A+

In a world ravaged by multitudes of occult connections, some beings are found to become attuned to this magic way past their expiration date. Spirits of warriors that died yet still seek out their final order often find that some are given second chances. Whether it be through the aid of an occultist or the land itself being corrupted enough to impose a reaction from a fallen warrior, these specters rise up wearing whatever they had upon their death. Though some metals do not, mythril on the other hand has a unique reaction to this process. Mythril armor on these ghosts is often pulled into a unique state between the living and the dead.
Being just as durable as its 'living' counterpart, Ghost Mythrilas some would call itis a material known for bolstering the wearer's magical potency. It is also said to help bridge the gap between magi and the spirit world. To occultists, this variation of mythril can be quite useful in multitudes of summoning rituals and the like.

Heart of Sluthia
Density B | Sturdiness C+ | Mystical Capabilities S+ | Refining Difficulty A | Rarity S+

Discovered by Therians early on in the millennia, this deposit of blackish red crystal is rumored to be made of the blood of dragons. Though they are incredibly rare, this material is heavily sought after by nobles seeking to expand their mineral collection, smithies, or but most notably Sluthians.
It is said that those who imbue weapons with such a material could rival even the strongest magic of dragons.

Flora

Density E | Sturdiness D | Mystical Capabilities A+ | Refining Difficulty S | Rarity S

Directly after the events of Astya's civil war, fighting back Amalia and her forces, a peculiar new breed of orchids began to grow among the land surrounding Astya. Garnering a faint golden coloration, it was said that it plentifully grew at the timeuntil Mordred ravaged the city itself. Now it is merely a myth, said to grow in areas where Astyans stood valiantly against their assailants.
It is said that this flower has the very will of Astya growing within its roots. Any magi that consumes this flower, even in its rawest form, has claimed to feel an increase in their constitution. Some accounts show that smithies have even found ways to integrate it into armor, though not much is said on the actual process.

Bastard's Bell
Density E | Sturdiness D | Mystical Capabilities C+ to S+ | Refining Difficulty C | Rarity B to S+

It is said that the noble bloodlines has a form of connection to the very magic circulating within the known world. And when these connections are severed, the mana collected from the extensive family comes pouring out, wasted. When a bloodline is severedsuch as the birth of a bastard childthe potential magic that has circulated throughout the years finds itself somewhere else, somewhere more deserving. Said to grow in the gardens of nobles within Aerendale, the growth of this bell-like flower is never a good omen for that specific family. The flower itself looks wilted, earning a brown coloration and dwindling leaves. Yet despite its appearance, it is here where all the potential of an extension of a bloodline comes pouring out.
It is said that the essence, kind of magic, and magical capabilities of this flower is dependent on the family that gains a bastard child. The deeper and richer the bloodline is, the more potential is imbued into the flower.

Fantasma Cap
Density D | Sturdiness D | Mystical Capabilities B+ | Refining Difficulty A | Rarity A

A favored item among disguisers and infiltrators, it is said that this mushroom grows only through the careful eye of a magi garnering a specialty in illusion. Founded by members of The Syndicate, these mushrooms are typically grown within dank caves, or in recent cases, the sewers. It is through the frequent exposure to metaphysical elements that these fungi soak them up and eventually include them within its side effects.
Though when consumed raw, it will present the person with an extremely vivid hallucination, targeting all five sense simultaneously. Yet within the hands of an extremely experienced alchemist, can be turned into a potion that allowed a person to form an illusion around their body, posing to look as someone or something else. Other than that, it is said that imbuing this material to a weapon can cause its wielder to become more of a blur in the battlefieldliterally.

Ryonish Devil
Density B | Sturdiness A+ | Mystical Capabilities B | Refining Difficulty B+ | Rarity A+

Said to be birthed from the sheer oppression of the Ryonish, these flowers bloomed frequently wherever the people of Ryonish marched prior to their utter defeat in the hands of Essharans. The flower itself bears a metallic red coloration. This is due to the petals itself being similar to metal.
Within the annexes of history, there has been tales of Ryonish bearing scale armor made from these flowers. It was through this innovation that earned the flower's name "Ryonish Devil". It is a sturdy kind of material that offers superb defense, yet it is incredibly lightsome even say it's lighter than mythril itself! Though one would need quite a hefty amount of them to create a full set or armor.

Fauna
Quote:Cephaladon Gel
Density C | Sturdiness D | Mystical Capabilities C+ | Refining Difficulty A | Rarity A

Within the dank sewers of Osronaand by extension the waterways that it flushes the water outlies a mutated form of tentacled daemons dubbed by urban legends as the Cephaladon. Described as a giant cephalopod bearing a dozen tentacles, it oozes out slime that is often regarded as one of the most disease inducing substances known to Essharans.
Magi, who is typically immune to a plethora of diseases, often experience a momentary lapse in their magic circuits, typically causing it to fail for a few moments as their entire body attempts to fight off the virus. Thus, this material is usually used in poisons. Yet there are some that even find use for these in drugs aimed to give magi seeking to pass off as 'non-magi' for whatever reason they may have.

Essharan Scarab
Density D | Sturdiness B+ | Mystical Capabilities C | Refining Difficulty C | Rarity C+

Often found within the dark and cold hours in the southern desert, these scarabs are larger than a typical one. Some descriptions have compared its size to a puppy, others the size of a toddler. Nevertheless, these scarabs are often found deep within the sand within small pocket burrows that usually lead to a deeper set of tunnels made by a hive of them.
The scarab itself is dangerous in big numbers. Their richly unique purple exoskeleton gives them the durability similar to that of obsidian. Yet be wary, their pincers are known to induce rotting of the skin. Thus, many blacksmiths find this beetle to be useful for multitudes of projects.
