I have lived through many things,
War, bloodshed, violence,
And yet, I stand here with nothing to show for it.
Friends have perished, some with a smile, others with blistering rage,
Pillars have been shaken,
Family have been taken.

Yet, here I stand with nothing to show for it.
Am I perhaps a fool?
Am I perhaps idle?
Am I lazy?

All of these questions lay without a true answer.
All of these questions will not bring satisfaction.
All of these questions only serve a single purpose.

They highlight my weakness.

Perhaps it's time I did something.
Perhaps it's time I tried to be what my peers believed I could do,
Perhaps it's time for the return of something once lost.

I can only hope I can live up to expectations.
