As of patch 2.3, characters can now craft books and bookshelves. A book is a series of HTML pages that can be edited and organized as desired, including the CSS style sheet that the book itself uses. Here's a basic example of a blue background, for example, which you can edit in the stylesheet.
Books
They cost 10 leather to craft, found in your general crafting menu. Once created, drag and drop paper on to a book item to add new pages. This also works great for storage, as anything written on the paper will transfer over (in the case of contracts, city laws, letters, etc).
Bookshelf
These are crafted in your construction menu and operate similarly to billboards, where you can drag and drop books to add them to the bookshelf for public viewing. The owner of the bookshelf can remove books as desired. These cost 100 wood to build. (There will be 'public' bookshelves in a future map patch)

- Editing: You can edit the page name and content of the chapters of a book. You can also edit the book's name, item description, etc. Individual pages can be removed and returned to your inventory as paper.
- Binding: Once you're finished with a book, you can 'Bind' it. Afterwards, it can no longer be edited. It can be placed on a bookshelf now. Make sure it has a unique name.
- Duplicate: This creates a copy of the book for 10 leather, with all of the pages. It's unbinded so it can be edited unlike the original.
