The First Oath

I swear to fulfill, to the best of my ability and judgment, this covenant:

I will respect the hard-won scientific gains of those physicians in whose steps I walk, and gladly share such knowledge as is mine with those who are to follow....

Meranthe, looking out from my window it all looks so tranquil and beautiful.

I used to spend so many days staring out my window wondering what mysteries the land held and what secrets lay in those places long forgotten or perhaps never known in the first place.
But as I grow older I feel like I understand more about what I was really looking at.

Like many patients I've treated, this land looks quite lovely on its exterior but within it is rampant with infection and illness.

I find it funny how many choose to put on that brave face when they must feel terrible inside. 

It is humorous how the land and people are so alike. 

Both simply need the proper treatment. 

And the proper Doctor.
